LJ Tags

I think we ought to make good use of the Tag feature on LJ.

Each professor should tag their posts with either the name of their course or department so it's easy for students to find anything they missed without wading through pages of posts.

And perhaps we should include tags for each club as well.

I believe only the teachers have the ability to create tags (because we're mods) but I think it would make navigation and information retrieval so much easier.

Thoughts? Comments?

Well... anything that would help us find things faster would be greatly appreciated.

From day to day, my Real Life schedule varies, but it's almost packed full without fandom high.

I would agree with you, except for one point: not all teachers are moderators (for some reason...?) and so remain unable to enable tag features.

Except that I can modify the tag for this post right now, if I wanted to. It's right there next to the "memory" button.

I agree that tags would be very useful, but currently it looks like anyone can modify COMMUNITY tags.

All of my classes and homework assignments are in my memories and I have the latest homework assignment linked to my info page.

The button is there so that we can add existing tags to a post.

We just can't create new tags.

I'd very much like to tag the "lifestyle" posts as such. Would ease my ... um, my thingummy. My wathchamacallit. Lifestyle.

I will always put classes and assignments in my memories. Personally, I hate using tags.
