School Clubs

In the interest of keeping the main community memories over at [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh really comprehensive, would someone be willing to track and list all the various school clubs that have been organized so that they can be easily added to the memories?

I was thinking that would be a good thing to do, so I'll take care of it. Poke me if I haven't posted anything by tomorrow afternoon.

You're much faster than I am. There are only a few I've seen that aren't listed -- I'll post them all at once in a bit.

*Bows to Scooter*

Gee. Well, if you really want to make it up to me, you can get me all my [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh admin priviliges in order. 8)

And, yeah, Scooter's a lot smarter than people think.

[Now, to disappear. Having dinner out tonight. Back later.]

I'll be interested in seeing what I missed. Thought I'd been keeping a fairly careful track of what got suggested. But, yeah, cheers.

Thank you kind sir. 8)

Now that I have my godly admin powers . . . well, I have to decide what to do as an official grown-up type person. Which made me think about acting as faculty sponsor to any kids who wanted to build sets/work tech crew for school productions. Which led me to the question of what exactly we could safely stage without potentially running into the story of someone's life a fandom that might be in play. *sigh* It's the play within a play within a play syndrome.

[identity profile] sharon-valerii.livejournal.com 2005-09-11 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
omg. Do we need an A/V club? With you as sponsor?

[identity profile] sonofaparrotman.livejournal.com 2005-09-11 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I was actually considering a few options along those lines, though which of them I actually implement depends somewhat on what the drama teacher is doing.

I mean, depending on what the drama teacher decides to offer in the way of classes, I might offer a stagecraft class(set-building, light-hanging, use fo the boards, design, etc, etc w/ fieldtrips and practical experience). If she's planning to offer something like that, then I'd offer to supervise her students' scene shop hours.

Otherwise, I'd probably offer to sponsor an a/v-scenic design club where if, y'know, you just came and hung out now and then and fiddled around with the sound equipment, then you'd have your extracurricular thing down, but if you actually came to all the club meetings and helped work the show(assuming there is a show) you might be able to get some sort of partial class credit.

Anyway, that's what I've come up with - any thoughts?

For the record, I'm sponsoring that.

[identity profile] sonofaparrotman.livejournal.com 2005-09-12 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Sponsoring which?

[identity profile] humanenigma.livejournal.com 2005-09-12 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
the Mechanics one. I feel dumb for not pointing that out.

[identity profile] sonofaparrotman.livejournal.com 2005-09-12 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Eh. It's mentioned in the thread, if not in the post. You might want to get with the student head and arrange to make a new post for it, though. So, y'know, all the new people can get a better feel for it.

*responds from the correct account* Sounds good. I need to nail down what kind of equipment we have access to.

And, er, possibly plan out a charter and appear organized. Yes.
