Not exactly sure if this has been done yet, but so many HP characters have been signing up today, I figured it need to be done, particularly considering how many of the older characters are showing up to go to school with Harry, Draco, and the other younger kids.

So consider this a post to get your timelines to jive together. :)

pure_blooddraco and I seem to be playing from either pre- or post-HBP.

Obviously, with the inclusion of the marauder's era group, we have timeline issues.

Any ideas for how to deal with it all?

that's your call, really, but Lily and James are still fighting/bickering (It seems post-5th year or during 6th year), so they're not yet "in love" and I'm not sure how much they should know about the future. Maybe you could know who we are, but we're oblivious to the fact that you are our future son? I don't know.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a temporal displacement field type of thing. The school exists outside of normal space and time rules; therefore, people from any planet, dimension, or decade may attend.

Of course, I've just got to get around to explaining it on the comm ...

Yeah I've been playing it like I'm Draco after HBP. He's pretty much a active Death Eater that leaves to do jobs for Voldemort.

I think I might go with Harry sorta knows you and the Marauders but doesn't freak out about it too much. Sorta selective amnesiac. I think that'll work.

So we're pre-Voldemort as well, right? We wouldn't know entirely who he is because he'd still be gathering his powers while they were in school. Hm.

We know quite a few things about Lily's personality, I'd say, and you get to invent the details. That's where the fun lies.

I was thinking that there could be a Voldemort (since I've had Draco being a death eater) but perhaps that he's not really a "mainstream" evil. He's out there and does bad things but I figured to the Marauders he's not really a "omg let's freak out and start an order to stop him" evil yet. I just have Draco doing some dirty work for him from time to time that doesn't really have anything to do with the characters of fandomhigh.

I believe Voldemort's gathering a following, organizing the death eaters, etc. but hasn't become a large public presence yet. There are probably stories here and there about missing people or unexplainable problems, but no one's too worried just yet. Depending on how close you think we were to Dumbledore, we may or may not know about the impending war.

The book-timeline kids would know him, of course--I do like the idea of Voldie being just an uneasy rumor for the Maurauders-era ones.

Yeah, I've been playing James in the Marauder-era. Still infatuated with Lily and getting nowhere with it and living it up with Moony. I have no idea what to do with Harry being there though, lol.

And ditto to Voldie being a whisper in far away corners.
