Just a thing...or several.
Not to be a pain but I have a question that involves several parts to it.
Not so much as a question as a call out.
If you had volunteered in the past to keep up with:
the dorm assignments
the friend add lists
the townie map
the club lists
(I'm sure there are others)
It is apparent the game is growing. We are already quite large and getting larger, although the rate of growth has slowed considerably.
But if I remember there were a few questions about dorm assignments that as of this posting, had not been handled to my knowledge. Frankly, from what I understand there are two lists floating around out there and neither are matching in all aspects. I know we had an official keeper and someone who was generous enough to step up and help but the official keeper's list is not in synch with the volunteer. This has created confusion.
I haven't checked the friend add list to see current status.
The townie map hasn't been updated and doesn't appear to be slated to be done for a bit (according to the announcement).
And I haven't a clue about any club lists and keeping up with the clubs, the student presidents and the faculty advisors, if there is one or not.
Would you do the game and those of us who are depending on those things a favor and either update them, keep them updated or pass them off to someone who will?
Old information is going to lead to some interesting screw ups. Granted some screw ups could be funny to play through in scenes but really...some players have been waiting a while to hear back about questions/comments they've had.
I realize RL comes first. It always should. And the game is supposed to be fun. But please...if you signed up/signed on/stepped up to do something, fulfill your implied promise to see it through or pass it on. It's no fun to those waiting for action and not having anything happening at all.
If you can't keep up with something, it's cool. No one will be angry you can't, but please...do us all a favor, let us know you can't and relinquish control to someone who can.
principalconnor and
jerusalem_s are only two people and they can't run herd on almost 300 people (and their various "I'll do that!" offerings) by themselves. I'm sure there are others willing to step up and run with the ball for a while.
I'd also like to give a shout out and kudos to
_notanumber for all the hard work going in to the website. It totally rocks. Make sure to give her him pats on the back. It is well deserved.

*he doesn't think Seimei is saying you did either.*
*you've been doing a fabulous job*
*it just appears your list was in conflict with the one who had been thought to originally control the list.*
*if you are now the official keeper of the list, rover vibrates for you.*
*and asks if you could post the link again so we have it.*

*also, I believe my list is more correct at the moment than the 'official' one. I know it is in at least some aspects, though it's possible I've missed something. It's pretty damn big after all.
I'll try and do something about a new link, anyway.

Actually, being set mod of the other comms would let me do more, really, but. Thingy.
But the room numbers should be set up in order, anyway. -- and if I could have links to all of these lists, I can add them to the comm layout.

That you have and kept it up is very much appreciated. I didn't want to presume you would want to continue henceforth and forever more...or at least henceforth. Sorry if my wording implied I didn't think you were doing a good job.
There just wasn't anything announced one way or the other except about a week ago by
I just know that people can't find that old link where you posted it so they can't keep coming to you and are going to the 'official' one where they haven't gotten responses to their questions/queries and are quite aggravated they've gotten no word.
Keep up the hard work. You deserve a kudos too, for all the effort you're undertaking to herd those

Anyway, it's really not a problem. I mean, as admin tasks go, this one's a piece of cake - a bit of back-and-forth over requests, a bit of entry editing and a bit of trawling to make sure I don't miss spontaneous dorm generation or something. *g* Besides, I've done RL housing before. For larger groups. Of Quakers
who are awfully like cats. Sometimes even for pay. This? Is really quite fun.Anyway, anyway: glad you got the link. Think I may make a new post to either the dorms or OOC linking back to it, though, so new arrivals can see where to go.

I should know better considering I'm a he in both as well...
My humble apologies.

just to explain a bit here.
I couldn't find this link again. no one else seemed to have this link when I asked for it. you had given me the room assignment which I appreciated. I remembered it
then, not a few days ago,
last I had heard she was the official list.
my name was not on the list as having a room. so it appeared you two had not talked.
I made an ooc post in regards to what was going on with the room assignments and got NO WORD. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh_ooc/76447.html)
I sent what I thought was the maintainer and responsible person for the list an email, to which I STILL have gotten no reply.
if she has real world issues pulling at her I am sorry to hear that. I didn't see it on the OOC comm and it's not on her personal LJ that I've seen.
I was still left hanging with NO WORD about the status of the discrepency.
so I found other lodgings.
while I really appreciate you picking up the ball and running with it, frankly I think you need to be considered and recognized as the official list since you are...available...and have the most complete list and appear to be around more.

Anyway, no worries. Just glad your character has somewhere to live.
