Chicago Area Meetup Question
Sneaking on while my boss is in a closed-door meeting and posting this with permission...
On Tuesday nights, I spend two hours wailing and gnashing my teeth as I'm forced away from the computer (and therefore Fandom High). Okay, I'm lying. I take belly dance lessons.
My teacher's dance troupe, Blue Lotus Tribe, is going to be dancing at a Hurricane Katrina Benefit at Rhythym Nightclub in Chicago on this Saturday, October 1st. Cover charge is a suggested donation of $15, with all profits from the cover going to the Red Cross to help hurricane victims. The organizers are matching all donations.
I was wondering if anyone from Fandom High who is in the area would be interested in meeting up there, or meeting up elsewhere and carpooling there?

I've been looking for an excuse to get out of this miserable little college town, but sadly, this weekend I'm apparently visiting the 'rents. ::sigh:: ...though I guess technically that is getting out of here, but it's just not the same sort of thing...

To Janet-mun: Hmm. I don't know if I can go. I'm very poor (comes with being mostly unemployed) so until my jobs starts back up (soon, so soon) I think I'm out. Gas is just too expensive. Stupid hurricanes.

I'm a University of Iowa student, in grand ole Iowa City. Not exactly the most miserable of college towns. It just seems it, sometimes.

Okay, despite me lovely nap in my last class, I should really go to sleep now...

I'm gonna be in school loan debt up to my eyeballs as it is, when I'm done this year. Yay graduation!
