OOC announcement: Student Council Revamp

Just an OOC heads-up before the IC heads-up goes out tommorow (or possibly Friday).

Student Council, with it's multiple losses and strange changeovers of membership, its lack of a proper faculty advisor, in addition to the fact that we never established what it was for or what the members ever did... It will hit a reset button next semester.

I know the election was a bit insane last time. But this time, it'll be much, much simpler.

Each class will elect 3 student representatives. The Seniors pick 3 Seniors for the council, The Juniors pick 3 Juniors, etcetera.

Those Twelve will then vote for their Prez and VP. That will be the extent of the offices. They will deal with standard Student Council things, coming up with proposals for the administration from the Student Body, spirit days, dances, etcetera.

So yes, all of you currently on the council? You will have to run for re-election. Sorry.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention, Josh Lyman will be acting as Student Council's advisor next semester. That will be all.

Yes. This is mainly to cement what Student Council does, and to encourage more interaction at Student Council meetings.

You'll probably be asked to find a Faculty supervisor for the Self Defense seminars, though. Which, if no one else volunteers, I'll force Smith to do :-D

And can we take it that the two projects we were going to get up adn running for next semester (1/6), the welcome dance and the Handbook for New Students, are still approved to go ahead?

Elections would be scheduled for January 16th (the second monday of the school term). StuCo members will be getting the heads-up about the re-election in the next two days, and could possibly begin their campaigning immediately. Other students will learn on the first day of the semester, the 9th.

The projects are approved and can keep going... though the Welcome Dance will be occuring on the friday before classes?

Actually, the dance was supposed to be for the Friday after classes start-- I didn't have the date here, but that's what I was referring to. I believe that makes it the 13th. Dusted Bunnies are playing.

Assuming there are no nasty surprises - and knock on wood so far it looks to be going okay - Angel should be back in Fandom sometime this Monday afternoon/evening (aka Jan 2).

And what's on the table from his end is just some amusing befuddlement, so by all means don't knock yourself out or anything. Just if you're going to do it anyway, a possible incentive is an adorably confused vampire.
