[OOC: Friending List Update - Welcome to the New School Year]

If you are NEW to the friending list, GO HERE and follow the instructions.

If you have already used the friending list, then here are short updates to remove dead/inactive ljs from your friend list and add new people easily. Payment can be rendered in naked/shirtless/hotlikefire icons; peer pressure demands it!

Copy each list into the Admin Console, then press the "Execute" button.

If there is a name on either list that should not be there, please let me know. Ditto for any name that should be on there, but isn't. Name additions and removals will be done on the next update.

FYI, you should probably run the friending list *without* the group names first, then run it again with the group names. There seems to be an LJ glitch where if you friend someone with the admin console directly to a filter group, they can't see your friends locked posts. I *think* friending them sans group first, then again with the group, will work. Maybe. Actually, I think I'll go experiment.

Heh. And it won't let me defriend dbiers, deandestroyer, lovesrenoir, and motherboy_bluth via the console -- probably because they were added directly to filtered groups rather than friended directly. o.O

I've very rarely friended anyone directly (so everyone with maybe two exceptions was added via the flist updates) and I still have the same problem with only those journals.

I haven't yet had it suggested to me that the direct adding of journals to filters is what makes it not work, though my own experience would suggest that that's not the answer in any case. This has been happening for a while though, yes. Usually the problem is only rectified by manually removing them.
