Oh Tree of Christmas Glee!
Friday afternoon a tree will be delivered to the first floor lobby of the dorms, along with moddable decorations, (non-alcoholic) cider, and Christmas cookies. Yup, tree decorating party in the first floor lobby! And because it's the lobby, teachers and townies are welcome to join in.
Posters will handwavily have been put up around town and the school, announcing the event, and the post will go up early Friday morning (set Friday afternoon) for SP.
But this is Fandom, so of course it's not an ordinary tree. The tree will be nominally alive - think along the lines of a really DUMB golden retriever. Sweet, well meaning, but extremely limited - it may sneeze occasionally, or giggle, or helpfully lower a branch to assist in the decoration process. It's also just a wee bit ticklish and a little bit mischievous, so it might lift a hat off someone's head, for example, but give it back when asked.
Its reactions/behaviour will be moddable, but they should be kept to small things and must be harmless. A post will go up every morning starting from Saturday with the tree doing Something Fandomish, and people are free to react to it.
Presents!
Characters can also safely put their presents under the tree, as the tree will make sure that nothing happens to them. If you want to use the tree to give out presents IG, you can put a link to the gift, or description of it, in the daily tree post (Of course there will be OCD!), along with who it's for, as a screened comment (so it stays a surprise!). [e.g.: Karal put a large package, wrapped in shiny gold paper and with a big red bow, under the tree for Gavin. The note read: You can't fall off this one!]
On Christmas day, these will all be put into the morning tree post, so characters can give and collect their gifts, regardless of players' Christmas day availability.
