Class Sign-Ups: Summer 2010, Session 2!
With new characters announced, it's time for that other pile of nutty, overly-complicated fun: signing up for Summer Session 2 Workshops! These sign ups are for both NEW and RETURNING students!
Please read the following before you start sifting through the humongous (seriously - we went to a seventh class period this time) array of workshop choices:
Teacher and Student Workshop Expectations. The all important guideline for what is expected of the players in Fandom High Summer Camp. Please give it a once-over even if you've seen it in some form or other before - a refresher never hurts!
Japanese characters, please sign up in the Western style - given name then family name - to make our alphabetical OCDing easier.
"PC" classes are those taught by a teacher character, the things you're signing up for here, as opposed to the new "NPC" classes, which are discussed in their own thread towards the end of this post.
For all days of sign-ups EXCEPT the last day:
1) Each student character MUST sign up for at least 2 PC classes. Each player may only sign up for a MAXIMUM of 8 PC classes, spread among your student characters in any way you choose, as long as each has the minimum of 2. (Yes, this means that if you only have one student, you could sign him up for 8 classes. Just think carefully about whether you have the availability to handle that.)
2) The maximum number of students for each class is 20, plus up to two pre-arranged TA's. For any classes that exceed their maximum numbers:
3) If you're a TA for a class, you need to sign up for that class. It will count towards your minimum 2 / maximum 8 courses (unless your character is a graduate TA). Please note TA-ship in the sign-up, so your character won't be counted towards the class-maximum of 20 students.
4) If it's OOC for your character to take the workshop but you really want to take it anyway, just sign them up and we'll pretend it was an In-Game paperwork mishap.
5) If you sign up, you need to show up. Class attendance is how we keep track of your character's activity. If you repeatedly fail to at least sign in to classes, we'll have to contact you about it, and you could be asked to leave the game.
6) Class descriptions are subject to change at the teacher's discretion. Tracy thinks I'm going to leave that bit in here from last time about having a crush on Dimitri, but she's wrong; mine is on Mitchell.
7) Sign-ups are not first-come, first-serve, to be fair to people in all timezones. Excess numbers in classes will be whittled down with the handy-dandy Random Number Generator, as mentioned earlier.
For the LAST day of sign-ups (July 1st) only
Everything above still applies, EXCEPT:
A) Sign-ups will be frozen for any classes that are already at or over their maximum. (This means that if you want your character to have a chance to be RNG'd into one of the classes that's looking super-popular, get that sign-up in by June 30th.)
B) For classes that have 10 or more students signed up but aren't already full: sign-ups proceed as normal.
C) For classes that have FEWER than 10 students signed up: players who are at their maximum of 8 classes already may add up to 2 more, for a total of 10, ONLY from these classes. Once a class reaches 10 students, it's no longer available for this option. If your sign-up is class #9 or #10 for you, please indicate that in your comment!
This is a new option we're trying out, in order to help out those teachers who might otherwise end up with very small class sizes.
Behooooooooooold!
Your Summer 2010 Session 2 Class Schedule!
Class sign-ups close at 11:59 PM PST on Thursday, July 1st (that's 2:59 a.m. on July 2nd for EST people and 6:59 AM on July 2nd for GMT/UTC). No late sign-ups are allowed without extenuating circumstances or proper arrangements (so sign up early in case something comes up). If you don't sign up on time, you'll have to wait for the next semester to play, and that's a long wait.
GENERAL FYI: It's totally fine to make changes to your class choices so long as you do it before the deadline. If it's July 1st and you'd like to un-sign from a class that's been frozen, just ping in the questions thread and let us know; we'll delete your sign-up for you.
Questions or difficulties, please email us - administration(@)fandomhigh.net - or drop a question in the Questions thread down below. All questions about things not related to class will, however, incur a cookie, pie, or nudity fee for answering.

The IMPORTANT stuff, now with NEW PROCEDURES:

2) The maximum number of students for each class is 20, plus up to two pre-arranged TA's. For any classes that exceed their maximum numbers:
- If you have two characters signed up for the same class, one will be ousted (so make a note in your sign-up of which you'd prefer get the spot if this happens).
- b. Student characters played by the teacher of the class will also get ousted.
- Students who have already taken the same class from the same teacher will also be eliminated, so please note in your sign-up if you're repeating the course.
- If the class still has too many, the Random Number Generator (RNG) will be used to determine the roster from the remaining sign-ups. If you have been RNG'd out, we will let you know as soon as possible, so you can choose a second alternative.
3) If you're a TA for a class, you need to sign up for that class. It will count towards your minimum 2 / maximum 8 courses (unless your character is a graduate TA). Please note TA-ship in the sign-up, so your character won't be counted towards the class-maximum of 20 students.
