THIS IS TOTALLY A SIDE NOTE but it's something my experience being hacked taught me: If you do the forwarding thing, make sure you've sent a few emails from the dummy address. Gmail asks for commonly mailed contacts when you try to get back into an account that's been suspended over suspicious activity -- since I've never knowingly sent anything as Didi, I couldn't answer the questions and lost access to the account. (I'm sure there's a way around this, but it wasn't important enough to me to bother.)

So, yeah. Not really relevant to what you said, but it was an eye-opener for me.
