Open Forum Stuff and Reminders!
First, we'd like to apologize for not getting this up sooner - the summer has been hectic, and this roundup was sadly caught up in all the excitement!
- Alumni leaving the island: Some of you wanted a more flexible departure schedule for alumni during the summer. We've discussed this and decided to clarify our policy on the matter. Alumni are more than welcome to leave in the middle of a summer term, provided they inform their teachers and/or employers beforehand, and submit a plot proposal! (Ideally, we'd like to receive this before the general deadline for leaving the island, so we know which characters are staying on for plotty reasons.) The opportunity is certainly open for anyone who'd like a different timeframe for their dearly departing.
- HMD meme: Participation has dwindled during the past few memes. We've read all your opinions on the subject, and we've finally come to the conclusion that the meme has run its course. For the time being, there won't be any more admin-run HMD memes.
Secondly, we'd like to announce that the next Open Forum will be this Saturday, September 17th! As usual, a friends-locked post will go up in this community in the morning (Eastern time) and will be open to all current players who want to make suggestions and raise issues they think should be discussed by the player base. There will be OCD to make this easier, of course!
The open forums are a place for people to bounce ideas around and get some discussion going. All we ask is that you be polite and considerate to each other. After that we'll round up all the issues that have been raised and get to work addressing them!
Thirdly, signups for Student Council elections are still open! If you would like your character to be on the ballot, you have until 11pm Eastern, Thursday, September 15th to submit the form.
And fourthly, there is also still time to submit your forms for clubs! You have until Thursday, September 15th to submit your club information, for the club fair on Friday.
Whew! If you read all of that, you get a cookie!
