Upcoming Event -- Renn Fest Trip

Hey all!

This is still a couple weeks off, but I'm too excited to hold back on the announcement. On Sunday, October 30 there will be a school trip to the Maryland Renaissance Festival, land of bawdy songs, jousting, Fight Club, and Steak on a Stake. It is basically one of my favorite things ever, and I don't even go in costume. (And yes, it really closes the weekend before. Things got extended in Fandom's dimension.)

Tara's spearheading the thing in-character, and she'll send out an announcement once she's back from St. John's. The trip will be posted in fh_trips.

Oh god, so I'm suddenly horrifically amused by the idea of Gabrielle being all "WOW, LOOK, IT'S JUST LIKE BEING AT HOME" and people going "WTF YOU ARE FROM THOUSANDS OF YEARS BEFORE THIS."

That could be the headache talking.

Ha! The neat thing about it is that, while the cast is pretty good about grounding it in the backstory (they've been somewhere in the reign of Henry VIII as long as I've been going), the attendees aren't. Some people wear jeans, some people go all-out, and I've seen a couple people dressed up like Xena almost every year.

So it really would be anachronistic. just like home.
