MEME: Anonymous Love

This was last done in August and what with it being almost December and therefore almost whatever holiday you celebrate towards the end of the year, it seems about time to do it again! So here are the instructions as a refresher:

1. Make a comment to this post with the name of your character. (If you play more than one character, you can make a comment for each of them.)
2. Go through and leave anonymous comments in other characters' threads saying nice things about them. (About the character or how they're played, or even something you like about the player; any of this is acceptable as long as they're nice things.
3. Read the comments your characters get and feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

Please don't say anything negative to anyone in this post. Meanface comments will be deleted. This is about making people feel good. Don't forget to keep checking in on the post throughout the day to give love to the to the new people that pinged in! Remember, if you ping in, please try and go around the meme and leave some love too. Seriously, folks. SPREAD ALL THE LOVE!

Anon commenting should be on, but if there's any trouble, hit me up at justonepersona [at] gmail [dot] com!

I'll admit, I don't know canon. But you have me intrigued enough to go poking about the wiki.

Kaidan seems like a sweetheart and it's been fun to play off him.

Re: Mike Lane

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Mike's reactions to life in Fandom continue to amuse me.

Re: Mercy Thompson

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Mercy's an interesting character, too, with a background that manages to be fairly unique even in Fandom's context. And she's just a really nice person to interact with, and really like what you've done with her, and the friendships she's forged.

Nice job!

Your Devil's Nest posts kind of make my week. All your threads/posts are great, actually; you've got this unique sense of humor that never fails to kill me.

Re: Bo/Ace/Xander/Francine

Ace! She makes me want to watch Classic Who despite myself. I love her energy and her 80s vibe and her desire to blow things up. Put in a word, she's ace.

And ditto what someone said about Bo's Devil's Nest posts. They are the bestest.

And I also want to take a moment to acknowledge all the adminly work you do, in particular with all the technical LJ stuff. Thaaaaaank you for all the hard work you do. You are really freaking great, and it's much appreciated.

Re: Tahiri Veila

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Tahiri's in that special class of people who are so cute in some respects and yet I really wouldn't want to get on her bad side. I have to say it makes me glad too to see her pop up sometimes.

I miss Gabrielle and Katchoo in particular! Gabrielle because she's fun and funny, dammit, and Katchoo because... she's Katchoo. How else would I describe her?

All in one thanks to work, yes.

Re: Arietty Clock/Pinkie Pie/Priestly

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
PINKIE PIE, OMG. Seriously, she is the best kind of crack. The very best. I especially love her attempts at cheering up Derek because if there's someone on the island who's not going to feel deterred at all by his reluctance, it's her, and it is great entertainment.

I'm also thrilled to have Priestly back on the island, because Priestly!

Re: Peter Wiggin

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter's one of those characters who I feel like everyone should get a chance to thread with - his subtle manipulations to get people to talk really helped bring out a side of my character that I'd never realized was there before, and I've seen him do similar things for others too. His floppy arms during Power-Swap were especially hilarious, and I always love reading him and Natalie.

PINKIE MUST STAY FOREVER. Her threads with Derek especially never fail to make me smile.

Re: Jonothon Starsmore

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Jono has always amazed me because of just how diverse and complex his relationships with other characters are, not just in who he associates with or what they talk about but in what they mean to each other, too. I often find myself reading his threads and thinking about how intelligent a person has to be to pull him off. You do a great job of that, so kudos. :)

Re: Jackson Whittemore

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't quite catch the Jackson bug from his canon alone, but here in Fandom you do more to counteract that with every thread you write. I particularly loved his twinges of vulnerability over what happened with Lydia this fall, and of course every roommie thread with Jim is gold.

Re: Lex Luthor

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I just love Fandom having a budding villain on their hands, and I love that it's Lex. He's quirky and dorky and cute and not at all cake-stealing, and I'm excited to see how you develop him as he starts to edge toward his future.

Re: Stiles Stilinski

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Your Stiles makes me continue to boggle at myself for how I could ever have watched the first few episodes of his canon and not fallen in love with him immediately. Don't worry, that fixed itself up as I continued to watch. Here in Fandom, he's totally true to form between the jitteriness and the brilliance and the shameless willingness to be obnoxious, and I love him to pieces.

So plz don't break him too hard. I'm talking to you, Davis.

Re: Cade

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
There was once a time, believe it or not, when I eyed Cade's infopost and went "well, he sounds cute enough, I guess, but he isn't [insert past Fry character I adored a whole lot]."

AHAHAHAHAHA PAST!ME WAS A MORON. Cade is scowly and self-serving and boozey and occasionally a dork in all the best ways, and he's even pretty traumatized, to boot. I can forgive him for not being [past character] on sheer merit of his awesomeness and your ability to write him in a funny, sometimes delightfully teasing way.

Also, he and Atton and Sparkle are the very best of bromances. The best.

Re: Jace Wayland

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I've tacked every Jace thread I've seen for at least the past six months, and I never walk away from one without laughing at least once. He's just as sharp and witty as he is in canon, and you only mention his tawny eyes about one-tenth as much, which I count as a victory. Pulling off a character who notices as much as he does and has as much literary and artistic and linguistic knowledge as Jace does can't be easy, but he reads like he just walked off the page.

So basically I ship Jace/Fandom. No canon for him. Nossir.

Re: Peter Wiggin

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm always amazed by how much I look forward to reading Peter's threads when he is so unpleasant. You manage to make him human and interesting and compelling even when we're all wanting to kick him.

Re: Toby Logan

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Toby is just so sweet and lovely and just... wonderful.

Re: Firekeeper/Blysse Norwood & Blind Seer

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I love them, just flat out love them and I'm always amazed at the way you're able to handle her language issues.

I miss having them on island.

Re: Anakin Solo

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't threaded with Anakin much, but every time I have, I've been blown away by how much of a through-and-through hero he is, and I see why the EU (which I've never really read, per se) puts him on such a pedestal. Basically he's the adorbs-est and I need more of him in my life.

Re: Anakin Skywalker

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I recently had a full-on conversation with someone about what our favorite weeks of Ethics class are, and I think the very fact that I could do that speaks volumes about how memorable and fundamental he is to the game. I also happen to adore that you've been changing up the syllabus a bit this year- the 'walk in a classmate's shoes' exercise was great and I think we all had fun with it, etc etc.

Re: Jonothon Starsmore

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I really enjoy the depth of his character and how well you play it. Reading his threads you can see what an incredibly layered character he is. Through the joy and pain you really let us see and understand him.

I also love the way he interacts with the students and the occasional wee tinies!

Re: Paddra Nsu-Yeul

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I always enjoy threading with Yeul and reading her threads. She's gentle and understanding and yet there's an alienness about her that is wonderful.

Re: Kennedy

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
There hasn't been a single app I've written since Kennedy's graduation where I haven't gone "Damn, Kennedy would've gotten on great with this one," and it makes me sadface just a bit.

Buuut in the meantime she's got her girl and her Slayer powers and college (and how much do I love that you're putting her through college? SO MUCH) and a happy future full of lots of staking, so I can't complain at all. You took a girl with very little canon to go on and fleshed her out, gave her a whole life with a Watcher (whose NPC death crushed me, thank you very much. CONSTAAAAANCE D: D: D:) and a pet and a dad and a half-sister and I COULD GO ON, REALLY. In the meantime I'll just give you all the hugs for pulling her off- and for not taking her away from us. Because that is not allowed.
