The first week of the fall semester is almost over, and that means it's time for Student Council elections! Zoe is so looking forward to working with you all...

The Student Council is comprised of 9 students total: 3 seniors, 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 1 freshman.

IC responsibilities for StuCo members include:

Showing up for meetings
Hosting the Parents' Weekend brunch...
...the Homecoming Carnival
...the Homecoming Dance
...the Valentine's Day Dance
...Prom
...other fun events (such as field trips, flowers for Valentine's Day, finals coffee breaks, etc.)
...and anything else the members come up with!

OOC responsibilities for StuCo members include:

Pinging into the meetings (they'll happen every other Friday during lunch, posted by Zoe and/or whoever the StuCo President ends up being).
Volunteering for and actually putting up the posts for carnival, prom, etc.
Coming up with ideas for fun events to do.
Organizing and implementing said fun events.
Tracking the StuCo comm where we do the OOC "who posts what" stuff.
Coordinating with me to make sure we get admin permission for anything that needs admin permission.

Since the ball is rolling on the semester, the campaigns kick off now!

OOCly: If you want to throw your character's hat into the ring, fill out the appropriate thread below. This will also count as handwavily filling out the same form IC and sticking it in a box on Zoe's door. This is the minimum requirement for getting your character's name on the ballot.

ICly: Campaign your little hearts out! Put up posters, give speeches, kiss babies, hand out buttons - whatever. You don't have to do this as part of the election, but remember that you're asking to be elected to a job that requires more work IC and OOC, so campaigning might be a good way to show both yourself and everyone else that you've got the time to put into the task.

The deadline for sign-ups is 11:59pm Eastern, Tuesday, September 16th.
The day of the election will be Wednesday, September 17th.
The election winners will be announced Thursday, September 18th.
The first StuCo meeting will be Friday, September 19th.

5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I did it before and you could do a lot worse than letting me do it again. Besides, the council needs a non-Earthling point of view.

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Employment: Demon Marcus and Dite's. Participated in Iron Foodie, Apathy, Cheerleading, Roller Derby and Pride club meetings back when those were still a thing. Plenty of legally-mandated community service pre-Fandom.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Fandom Survivor- One night, however many contestants want to compete. Doing stupid sleepover activities, forming alliances and voting people out until there's just one student standing.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because I've managed to not blow up the school yet, and I probably won't between now and grad. Probably.

And I've got a really good employment record at Night Vale Community Radio, and I even survived interning there! Um. I think. Anyway, I think I'm ready to do this again!
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Oo, we should have intramural events! You know, each class gets together or there are teams or something, and we compete in things! Like baseball and football, hide and seek, escaping certain death, that sort of thing!
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Why not? I think I bring a lot of experience and enthusiasm to the part!

5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because I love Fandom, have lots of enthusiasm, and am a great person to pick as the totally non-threatening face of Fandom!

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): ~~highly trained assassin~~ I've been around politicians my whole life. I'm sure I can figure out how to make what I've seen actually be effective.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: ~~consolidate power under one hugely powerful if slightly creeptastic ruler~~ I haven't been here long enough to really know the full scope of their powers but...can we have a bachelor's auction? Johnny Storm could probably bring in hundreds for charity.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: ~~I'm not a good enemy to make~~ I believe the best way to learn about a new place is to become very involved. I will be a good addition to your council.
