Student Council Elections
The first week of the fall semester is done, and that means it's time for some copypasta! Student Council elections! Zoe is so looking forward to working with you all...
The Student Council is comprised of 9 students total: 3 seniors, 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 1 freshman.
IC responsibilities for StuCo members include:
OOC responsibilities for StuCo members include:
Since the ball is rolling on the semester, the campaigns kick off now!
OOCly: If you want to throw your character's hat into the ring, fill out the appropriate thread below. This will also count as handwavily filling out the same form IC and sticking it in a box on Zoe's door. This is the minimum requirement for getting your character's name on the ballot.
ICly: Campaign your little hearts out! Put up posters, give speeches, kiss babies, hand out buttons - whatever. You don't have to do this as part of the election, but remember that you're asking to be elected to a job that requires more work IC and OOC, so campaigning might be a good way to show both yourself and everyone else that you've got the time to put into the task.
The deadline for sign-ups is 11:59pm Eastern, Tuesday, September 15th.
The day of the election will be Wednesday, September 16th.
The election winners will be announced Thursday, September 17th.
The first StuCo meeting will be Friday, September 18th.
Just follow the OCD and you'll be all set!

Questions about StuCo!
Sign-Ups for StuCo!
OOC!
Re: Sign-Ups for StuCo!
2) Class: Senior
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): StuCo
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Casino night. I don't actually know what Casino Night is but it sounds self-explanatory and good.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because I did it last year and didn't suck.
Re: Sign-Ups for StuCo!
2) Class: Junior
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): None! And if I have my way, my only actual experience will involve the spiking of all beverages at student council events.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Have you don't an Oktoberfest? If so, could I interest you in a Novemberfest?
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: There's no good reason to elect me. I don't particularly want to do it. I'm not even sure I can do it and I'm not very motivated to find out. The only reason I'm even writing this is because I got some fresh air and it made me feel very slightly ambitious when that's the last thing I normally am aside from sober.
But I can make a promise: I won't care. Aren't you sick of really fancy parties with all sorts of decorations? Aren't events too complicated? If you elect me, I promise to pretty much show up, have some drinks, and be slightly disruptive. This should kneecap the parties well enough to keep things a little more reasonable.
Hey, you, person who's still reading this. While all the other people are distracted by how terrible I'd be based on one of the first two paragraphs, I'd like to talk to you. We both know that's too much effort to sabotage something, right? Seriously the only thing I'm going to do is make sure the spiking of any sort of punch is done properly, but we can't let the people in charge know. So it's just you and me in on this, right? Here's to a proper buzz!
Re: Sign-Ups for StuCo!
[illegible scrawl]2) Class: Freshman
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I have plenty of leadership badges and survival experience from being a Lumberjane! Also, I was active in student council at my middle school.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: I have a bunch! We could have a gigantic slumber party on the sixth floor of the dorms for each individual class so we can bond as a group! Or we could have a Field Day where we all split into teams and do different games and activities that the teachers can chaperone instead of being cooped up in class for a day! Or we could have a schoolwide murder mystery game! Or we could have a live telethon for charity where people can show off their talents and we can accept pledges for a foundation for education!
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I have great ideas, I'll listen to what people want, and I'll do my best to make school a lot of fun for all of us. I'm great at planning events and I'm great at figuring out compromises so everyone can get what they want. I promise to use this position fairly and responsibly in order to act in the best interests of all of my fellow students and make Fandom High the best it can be.

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I worked at my best friend's parents diner for years and I am always helping my mom organize shows for her products and helping however I can when community shows and conventions show up back home.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: I'm not sure what they have done before, but candy grams for a holiday other than Valentines can be fun and help with school spirit.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I'm a people person who doesn't back down from a challenge and will do everything I can with any task or job I'm given.

2) Class: Junior
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I was part of a small team of people that helped
temporarily, at leastprevent the end of all life as we know it in the galaxy. That counts, right?4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Set up a collection box for useful items that people no longer need, and have a designated time or place where others can take what they might need from the donations.
I understand "flea market" is a term humans use, but let's not tempt Fandom that way.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I'm still getting used to working with humans. A lot of humans are still getting used to working with non-humans. Let's just call it an educational exercise in interstellar diplomacy.
Re: Sign-Ups for StuCo!
2) Class: Sophomore
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Oh gosh, nothing official!!! But I've always loved organizing parties and such for my friends, and I was in charge of the grill during the Madison High football season opener...
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Well, I'm fairly new so it's difficult of course to say if something has or has not been done before, but what about some sort of Secret Santa gift exchange! It could be an excellent opportunity to get to know people you might not normally socialize with, and who doesn't love presents?!
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I am just super excited by the prospect of planning parties!!! And organizing bake sales!!! And I'm just really keen on making sure all of my fellow students feel like Fandom High is a welcoming, inclusive environment with a variety of activities that would appeal to everyone!!!
