TWO ANNOUNCEMENTS IN ONE!!!

Soooooo, first off: For the most part, Fandom enjoys weather patterns that are more or less in line with what is happening in Baltimore back on the mainland. Every so often, though, the island likes to mix things up a bit and that's what'll be happening this Thursday, October 3rd when it will be raining Jello all day.

What kind of Jello, you ask? Any colour or flavour your heart desires, mod at will!

Why Jello, you ask? We don't know. Maybe the island misses [personal profile] somethingwithturquoise.

What's that second announcement, you ask? Wellll...

Wake up, denizens of Fandom - it's that time again!

Ttime to maybe grab a look under the sheets before you spring nekkid out of that warm, comfy cocoon. (Also possibly time to have a talk with your roommate about appropriate sleepwear in a shared living space.)

That's right, it's the FH Sex-Swap Event! No, it doesn't involve tossing your car keys in a bowl, and yes, it used to be called Genderswap before Fezzik told us we keep using that word and he doesn't think it means what we think it means, because gender is one thing and bits are another.

Because Fandom hasn't done this in a while and really wants to mess with your heads, this isn't a Sex-Swap Day. It's not even a Sex-Swap Weekend. No, you lucky Fandomites -- any Fandomites: students, teachers, townies, and through the glittery magic of Fandom, off-island alumni/expats -- get to be the first victims of Sex-Swap WEEK.

Here's how this one works:

🧑 ➡ 🧒 On Monday, October 7th, characters who went to sleep with boy-type bits (or reasonable nonhuman facsimile thereof) may -- if their player chooses -- unexpectedly wake up with girl-type bits (or reasonable nonhuman facsimile thereof), and a matching general external appearance. Said bits will be returned to their proper formation when the character wakes up on Friday, October 11th.

But wait, there's more!

🧒 ➡ 🧑 On Wednesday, October 9th, characters who went to sleep with girl-type bits (or reasonable nonhuman facsimile thereof) may -- if their player chooses -- unexpectedly wake up with boy-type bits (or reasonable nonhuman facsimile thereof), and a matching general external appearance. Said bits will be returned to their proper formation when those characters wake up on Sunday, October 13th.

So there will be an overlap on Wednesday and Thursday when everybody's having a bad day. Or at least a weird one.

🤔 ➡ 😏 Speaking of everybody, we would never leave out those characters whose original bits are:

  • nothing resembling male or female
  • intersex/any combination of male/female/other
  • self-transforming, whether at will or only under certain circumstances (shapechangers and clownfish, we're looking at you)
  • Sir Not Appearing In This Film (your character usually has no bits)

In fact, those characters may have the most opportunities for Fun Or The Lack Thereof. (Your fun, their lack.)

  • You can choose to have them affected only with the originally-boy-types (7th to 10th), only with the originally-girl-types (9th to 12th) or for the whole six days if that's your jam.

  • They can wake up with any single set of bits available to their species as long as it's not the one they went to sleep wearing.

  • If bits are Sir Not Appearing In This Species, then you're welcome to have them suddenly possess humanoid girl-type or boy-type bits, your choice.

  • If you're going for all 6 days and you've got more than one option for what to change them into, feel free to take advantage of that by having them switch to Option 2 on the 9th!

All of these effects are purely physical. It won't change anyone's memory or gender-identity. (How it affects their sexual orientation, if at all, is up to you.)

There's an FAQ/more detailed rundown here (including NPC effects), but you can feel free to use this post for any additional questions or your own shenanigan-plotting!
