Springtime, that is! Which means, in chronological order:

1) That pesky sex pollen, from the 19th to the 24th
2) The Spring Formal on the evening of the 24th
3) AU Kids, appearing the morning of the 25th and staying until the evening of the 27th!

You have the option of having children show up at any age from 3 through 17. Alumni can get in on the action too, as kids of theirs can also find themselves coming through the portal, landing in Fandom, and giving their very surprised parents a call. Or, if they are teenagers, roll their eyes, ignore being responsible members of society, and bop around the island having their own fun. The sign-up for AU kids is up in Plotterywheel, so get your thinking caps on for brainbreaky and adorable kids/teenagers and their oh-so-necessary icons, then trot on over there to sign up before Thursday, April 23rd!

This coming week's random event comes to you courtesy of throughaphase: chutes and ladders! Yes, tomorrow, Fandom's many stairs suddenly transform into slides, sending everyone tumbling downhill (or trudging doggedly back upstairs) whenever they try to traverse the island.

Then, the week after that, on Tuesday February 17th, Once More With Fandom returns after a long absence! Yep, all day, your characters - if you wish - will break out into song, original or otherwise, when emotions rise to the surface.

Valentine's Day Flowers 2026!

Good afternoon! With Valentine's Day approaching, it's time to order some flowers!

For a trip down memory lane about what the flower sale ends up looking like, see the most recent entries here. Carnations and roses are available in all colors and in any quantity.

Flowers can be sent to anyone, and can be sent from any character, including alumni and ex-pats. ICly, the flower orders will go through the Student Council (either in person or by e-mail for those who aren't local), with a note that all sales are final.

To make an order, leave a comment here (all comments will be screened) with the following information by 11:59pm Eastern on Friday, February 13th:

Feel free to leave multiple orders in one comment! The flower deliveries will happen on Valentine's Day morning (Friday). Any questions will be unscreened!

I'm having A Time and I think I'm in like four meetings today, so here, have a meme we last did in July.

Pose a question (or as many as you'd like, and they don't all have to be in one comment, so you can come back later and add more if you want) to your fellow students, teachers, townies, alumni and expatriates, and they will answer them. These are IC questions and IC answers and should be truthful! They can be personal or silly. You don't have to answer all of them! Nothing counts in game, of course.

So, for example, I'd ping in with a question like 'Are you in love? If so, with who? If not, why not?' And people ping in under me and answer that question. There's no latesies on this, because of the format, so people can ping in at their leisure. And ANYONE can ask questions!

Check throughout the day to see what new stuff may have been added!

I think I might be the actual only person in this office on my second week at this job where I don't know all of what I'm supposed to be doing, SO. MEME. We haven't done this one since- strangely- this time last year.

This is gonna work like a questions meme: Players respond ICly to questions about THIS LAST YEAR OR UPCOMING YEAR. For instance, "Who's someone you're glad you met this year?" or "What are your new year's resolutions?" or "What are you looking forward to in the coming year?" All answers are IC, nothing's gained IG from this but fun.

Please feel free to add your own questions! Seriously I came back to three emails and two were "so and so is trying to reach you on Teams to tell the office Merry Christmas."

Faculty Advisors!

Sneaking this in before most of us disappear for the holiday, hopefully...

This time around we need two teachers to help our new students adjust, readjust, or continue to adjust to Fandom's little quirks (you know, the squirrels, the raccoons, the sometimes everyone turns into a child...).

Please volunteer if your teacher will be the following:

Non-antagonistic about helping out someone (ICly, your character can be signed up against their will, but, please don't sign up if they're not going to be helpful to a newbie).
You have the time to field questions from a newbie, and your character will be around consistently for the first few weeks of the semester.
The new students arrive Saturday, January 3rd, so online availability for at least part of that day

Wednesday, December 24th: Commence the snow! Also, the air is made up of about 7% cinnamon - just enough to make everything smell nice.
Thursday, December 25th: Everyone wakes up to a small present! Nothing fancy, nothing expensive, just that one little thing you've been thinking you should get but haven't because you forget or it's never quite cheap enough to buy in the moment when you see it in the store...

Spring 2026 Class Sign Ups!

Dear merciful Jesus, how.

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! It's time to sign up for your Spring 2026 Classes! These sign-ups are for EVERYONE: students, teachers, and townies. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. Please read the following before you start signing up:

1) Teacher and Student Class Expectations! The all important guideline for what is expected of the players in Fandom High. Please give it a once-over even if you've seen it in some form or other before - consider it a good thing to click and read while I put up the OCD!

2) Japanese characters, please sign up in the Western style - given name, then family name - to make our alphabetical OCDing easier.

The Important Stuff About Signing Up For Classes

1) Since we've removed the cap on characters, we have also removed the cap on the number of classes your characters can sign up for, but please consider your RL ability to keep up before chucking a character at every class we're offering.

2) If it's OOC for your character to take a class but you really want to take it anyway, just sign them up and we'll pretend it was an IG paperwork mishap. "Blame the moose" has been working for years!

3) If you sign up, please, please try to show up. It lets the mods judge if you're still in the game and it makes the work the teachers are putting into coming up with something fun to interact with so worth it.

4) Class descriptions are subject to change at the teacher's discretion.

5) To be fair to people in all time zones, sign-ups are not first-come, first-serve.

And now we get to what you really want to see: Spring Classes!!!!

FH class sign-ups will close at 11:59pm Eastern on Friday, January 2nd, and are IG knowledge at the Welcome Picnic.

General FYI: Feel free to make changes to your class choices as long as you do it before the deadline. We use the final pings in each thread to make the class lists, not the email notifs. Fandom Advent! Week Three!

Lo, the season continues.

Monday, December 15th: Chickens in capes roam the island. Adorable.
Tuesday, December 16th: Anyone wandering past Selkie Peak will notice that there's a massive miniature village built up against it, just across Selkie Lake, full of moving parts, lights, and little puppet people going around their day. On closer inspection, it looks a lot like Fandom...
Wednesday, December 17th: Candles appear everywhere. Mysteriously, they don't burn anything.
Thursday, December 18th: Hungry? No longer! Any time you open a door, a pile of latkes appears.
Friday, December 19th: Santa hats? So passe. Today, everyone (whose player choses to) sprouts reindeer antlers and/or hooves!
Saturday, December 20th: The island is visited by a flock of sentient snowmen. They seem quite friendly, but also prone to singing family-friendly earworms that won't leave you all day.
Sunday, December 21st: Everyone wakes up with a free snuggie.

It's my last day at this suckass job!! And all my work is being done by other people and I have literally nothing to do but I have to be here at least till lunch so they don't say I used a vacation day because I want to be paid out for it! So, here's a meme we last did in May of last year.

Fandom Advent! Week 2!

Yes, the island is still on its (real and metaphorical) horseshit this week.

Monday, December 8th: Everyone's shirts turn into hideous Christmas sweaters
Tuesday, December 9th: Full-sized reindeer rampage through the streets! Luckily for everyone, they're made of lights and are just here to make things pretty.
Wednesday, December 10th: Cold water taps around the island dispense mulled wine (alcoholic or non), warm water taps dispense peppermint mocha.
Thursday, December 11th: Aggressive mistletoe stalks you from above, attempting to menace you into kissing whoever you're with.
Friday, December 12th: Snow paints you! Yes, it's snowing in Fandom, and every little fleck will stain your clothes and/or skin in festive colours.
Saturday, December 13th: Snow continues! Except this time it's marshmallows, and there's a distinct... blizzard-esque quality to it. Better huddle up inside and only go out if you've got a mug of hot cocoa in hand.
Sunday, December 14th: Sparkly pine trees pop up all over the island. In backyards, in the park, on the lawn, maybe even in your house. The sparkles sound like chimes.

Do YOU Need This Form?

If your character is a current teacher and would like to continue teaching, or a current townie who'd like to start or return to teaching, you DO need this form. Just scroll on down and fill it out below.
If your character is an alum/expat who would be returning to the island to teach, first YAY, and second, you DO need this form. Please drop us an e-mail at fandomhighadmins@iambicnut.com to let us know you plan to bring the character back, then mosey back here to fill out the class proposal below!
If your character was dropped from the game, and you'd like to bring them back as a teacher, also YAY, but you'll need to do that by submitting a character application as described here and including your class plans in that. So congratulations, you DON'T need this form!
If you are a current teacher wanting to move to townie status, just drop us an e-mail to say so; you also DON'T need this form. If your teacher is running away for good, tell us over here in the dropped character post.

What's Needed for a Class?

The ability to come up with 17 weeks worth of classes (16 + 1 exam)
The ability to post each class by noon Pacific or 3pm Eastern the day it's scheduled (you can also post the night before).
The ability to interact with your students (slow play is fine, you don't need to be around all the time).

Fandom Advent! Week 1!

Yes, it is somehow almost December already. Here's your advent events for the first week of the month! (Pretend I wrote that more elegantly.)

Monday, December 1st: The island starts us off gentle - every screen now plays the Yule Log.
Tuesday, December 2nd: The audiovisual terror continues - anything with a speaker or less-digital sound-making abilities now plays Carol of the Bells. Exclusively.
Wednesday, December 3rd: Across the island, floors - flat surfaces big enough to host one, really - randomly turn into ice rinks. Not all of them, but many.
Thursday, December 4th: Christmas lights come to life! Yes, little snakes of multicolored lights will be crawling all over the island.
Friday, December 5th: It's your old friends, the tiny white horses, wandering across rooftops and sticking their heads into chimneys and maybe, occasionally, being tempted down by a nice carrot.
Saturday, December 6th: It rains marzipan fruit everywhere. Om nom.
Sunday, December 7th: The Coca Cola bears show up with free Coke, in case you need to wash away all that marzipan.

Weetiny Weekend! November 15th through 17th

Hello everyone! It's time to weetiny! Students, teachers, and townies alike will wake up as pint-sized versions of themselves next weekend, from Saturday November 15th through Monday November 17th.

A quick reminder about how this works:

- Participation is completely optional.
- If you choose to participate, your character needs to wake up as a kid (ages 4-10) on Saturday morning and stay that way the whole weekend until waking up back to normal on Tuesday morning.
- The kids won't be terrified to wake up in Fandom, due to the wackiness. It's more like they've always been here.
- Clothing will be shrunk down as well, and all the weapons will turn into toys so no one can hurt themselves accidentally.
- This is open to alumni and expats as well!

Time to go hunting for stock photos of small children, pics of your PB as a child actor, or screencaps from a flashback episode! Questions, comments, witty stories?
