The Tree

I would very much like to know more about this apparently homicidal tree that's in town. Can anyone tell me anything? (Is there anyone in particular who's responsible for its -- activities?)

There's one on campus, down by the lake. It's either a tree or an Ent (from LotR), depending on who's telling the story and if the tree decides to address you as "little Orc," which has been known to happen.

It takes people and chucks them into the lake--it's a bit of a running gag and as far as I can tell is run entirely by the imaginations of the people running around and getting attacked by it.

It might not be long for this Earth, though. It's dunked Padme a few times and she has her Advanced Negotiations class looking for ways to get rid of it.
