(no subject)

Everyone seems to be posting where their characters are, canon and reaction wise.

I'm tentatively setting her post-sixth season, as Grissom's theme for the sixth season is treat Sara like shit. To put it simply, she grew very tired of being treated like a trainee (she is a CSI Level III) or simply ignored whenever on assignment.

She is not tired of the field of forensics itself. That is why she turned in an indefinite Leave of Absence form and left Las Vegas.

She is fiercely protective of those she believes cannot protect themselves. Her students, for the most part, are under that banner. And she is particularly protective of women due to her family's violent history. Hence her immediate reactions to Maia's situation and Buffy's fear. The fact that both were being disturbed by the same male (Angelus) was icing on the cake.

Should she have recorded the conversation? That's up for debate. She did not do so to incite a mob, nor is she looking to unjustly have Angelus expelled. However, she doesn't want the apocalypse to begin right outside of her physics lab, especially considering the crowd Angelus is hanging around with.

As for fraternizing with students, please note that she made certain it wasn't against the rules. And she is ethical enough to not allow any of the students use that to his (or her, she isn't picky) advantage.

In summary, she's fiercely intelligent, protective, and has an itchy trigger finger. Any questions?

It's admirable that she is so passionate about the health and well being of her students.

She did not do so to incite a mob, nor is she looking to unjustly have Angelus expelled.

That may not have been her intention but that is how it all came across, at least to this character.

For Seimei, it's not that she recorded the conversation, it's that instead of taking it straight to the principal, she distributed it to the faculty. That can and has be construed as whipping up the masses by a couple of us.

Just this mun's two cents worth.

I think Sara has, by canon, shown frustration with the legal process when it defends the criminal over the victim (the idea of a mandatory DNA registry, etc.) so her stance here fits the way I have always perceived her. My 2 cents.

I, the player, have no issues with what went down.

My character did.

Her character, being in character or no, wasn't the issue.

My character was questioning what her character did and her character's motivations behind it.

The player can justify 'why' all she likes and I'm good with it. She can say things weren't 'her' intention all she likes, as can her character. I'm good with that.

Justifying it -in play- and convincing -another character- who sees it quite differently is another ball of wax.

She posted an OOC stating what her intentions were and that's cool. I posted a comment that regardless of what her intentions were, it was how it was perceived by another character that seemed to be at cross purposes.

No harm. No foul. It's all in good fun.

By the way? River's not all that freaked out by it all. After you've experienced Reavers, Angelus's big badness loses a bit of ooomph. Hell, at this point she's thinking that she could probably use those knives... matched set and all... :)
