Fandomhigh_Classes?
Hi. Would it be possible, considering the amount of traffic
fandomhigh gets, to make a seperate community strictly for teachers to post classes and homework assignments in? It's extremely frustrating to try and keep up. Not all the teachers post their current assignment stuff in their personal journals or their info page.
Thanks.
Thanks.

... which is why they're all in my memories and on my info page.
With all the traffic on fandomhigh, I wouldn't mind a separate community for classes. I also don't want to be in charge of creating it, thankyoueverso, although I'd be willing to keep up with it as maintainer.
I'm still having enough trouble trying to get the damn townies to cooperate without maintainer status.

I just worry that the more communities we have, the more work it is for the maintainers.

*eyes swirl dramatically*
Someone nab Trollprincess this evening and run it past her?

I just don't want to step on any toes.

There are a few things I think could help facilitate this comm's ease-of-use. For example, the OOC... when people aren't able to play, or have some general "I'm leaving for two hours" kind of thing, I think it would be smartest just to post that to their journal, rather than to the OOC. And when people have a dorms thread, not cross-posting it to their journal would help clear up the friends list/filters I check for Max.
To make things easier on myself, I usually just drop links into a comment in my own Max journal. It's a handy lil' storage bin that doesn't botch up everyone else's flists.

I'm not a fan of that just on principle. I'd rather people refrained frrom posting in fandomhigh unless it really is a)public and b)school-relevant to everyone.
Less crossposting would also help.

(I know I'm swimming upstream here, but this really is a very strong opinion.)
If the problem is that people can't find their classes, one solution that would not make me insane would be having one post per day that existed just to link all of the classes that were happening that day.

Plus, I'd really just like to play out of my filters and friendslist, rather than abandon the classes-at-fandom-high thing.

The trouble is that some of the professors keep disappearing or are days behind... and it's just gotten screamingly messy. I have a student character who keeps looking for classes that just aren't there.
Someone would have to make and maintain the post, nag and chivvy the professors to remember to post there....
*shrugs* There's no solution that will make everyone happy, frankly.
Right now, I can't even get the townies in order and because there's no requirements to apply or anything some have come and gone without leaving more than a single post in their wake and it's irritating as all get out.

Seriously -- yes, she should certainly be in on it. My post about doing it right away was more enthusiasm than anything else.

Once this gets set up, this will alleviate a *LOT* of the problems.
Class Schedule and Basic Syllabi will be available. Day-to-day assignments... I'm still working out an easy-to-use system for, because I don't want to be hassled with making a change ehttp://www.fandomhigh.com

Are you thinking about making an FAQ-y thing? Because it almost sounds like we're talking about a couple of related-but-distinct problems: First, the game has gotten too big for people to easily find classes or other specific posts, and second, no one's really sure what should be in a private journal vs. what should be in fandomhigh_dorms vs. what should be in the main community, which leads to both frustration and crossposting. I think the site could help the first problem, but NSM the second.

Perhaps if the teachers posted the actual classes in their character journals and linked to them... then each student could create a filter with only the profs they're taking classes with?
