Edit: Also? My inbox is... interestingly overwhelmed, although nowhere near as badly as that of our principal, and I am having difficulty tracking some things through it due to the way gmail nests lj responses.

One thing that will help with seeing requests for assistance etc. in any e-mail system and g-mail especially, is for the person commenting to put something in the subject line of the comment box, like "Continuity problem - help?" or "Journalism 301 homework." That way the comment will come through to the recipient's e-mail account as a separate subject, not nested or hidden within a million "Reply to your post/comment" headers.
