Questions for you RE: fandom_radio

[livejournal.com profile] fandom_radio's been up for almost a week now, and I just wanted to thank everyone for their very positive response to the idea so far.

The community serves both as a way for people (both muns and non-[livejournal.com profile] fandomhighers) to catch up with what's been going on in [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh for the day and as a source of entertainment for the characters. Barbossa gets to go to class, gets to talk to students about what he was saying about them on the radio the night before, etc., and that's half the reason his character is fun.

I want to find out exactly which threads you all want considered fair game for the radio station. I've been avoiding threads that are marked as private or just for certain characters to be able to read (even if it says "open to everyone but Anakin Skywalker," or something), as well as generally avoiding any conversations dealing with medical history or guidance sessions. This makes [livejournal.com profile] fandom_radio less comprehensive for muns who might not have been following, for example, the Angelus Sooper Sekrit Plot of Nefariousness, but is more in character for what Barbossa might be able to learn about.

Also, as I decided to do this when there weren't, um, 100 postings a day to the various communities, I would also be most grateful for anyone who would be willing to help out. Even one day a week would be wonderful (and you don't have to write it in pirate, I swear.).

I'd be very interested in any other suggestions you might have as well!

As long as the thread isn't marked private or locked, anything my characters do is pretty much open.

Sounds fair to me.

Anything I write is fair game.

Who loves the old pirate? A hitman with the heart the gold.

Disclaimer: Except anything OOC.

Anything Jake does that's reasonably (ie Barbossa or someone can have overheard or heard about) in public, is fair game.

Anything I post is fair game. Have at.

I mentioned Ripper's third nipple last night (for my myth homework) if you could mention that tomorrow it'd really help Paige out!

Jay is so much fun to play, and I hadn't gotten to in a long time.

I'm loving your reports, especially in pirate!

I'd offer to help, but people tend to tune Sam out, so that's not much good for a daily report.

All threads are valid, as far as I'm concerned. Even the private ones. The point is mainly to show people where to look for the good stuff of the day, and I have this listed as an OOC-comm. It sorta straddles the line between reality and fandom_high.

I'm willing to help compile links of fun and amusing things...

I just set up an AIM for Veronica - it's veronicamarsFH - you can let me know how I can help :)

Public posts sound like a good guideline (heh) for what's fair game. Especially since the radio station itself exists within the "canon" for the school. So if whatever is going on is common knowledge, or at least could be common knowledge, then it's okay to announce. But if it's in a supposedly flocked post, or behind closed doors, then maybe assume the answer is no unless the character/character's mun says yes?

Which actually errs more on the side of caution for me than Angelus actually needs - not like he minds people finding out about him sleeping with Faith, or the fun he had at the police station or in the clinic. But to make your job easier on two counts you could just tell people hey, if they want that private stuff to be included then they need to tell you about it and provide a link. And that way you'll never end up announcing something that was supposed to be OMG sekrit!!

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Granted, this does blur the line between meta and canon a bit, but this could also be something that both the mun and/or the character could want the community to know. Like if students wanted to make announcements, or if certain undead students totally wanted to implement their evil evil plans wanted to announce their own FH bulletins, that could be a thing too.

Ha. Well, as you know, Beka's not real fond of having her and Cam exposed all over the place, but as her threat note said, anything that's public is fair game.

I pretty much play her for the havoc, and if she gets angst with Cam because of it, that's her own fault.

If I filter, private, lock, ooc, I'd prefer that not get lifted. If I voicemail, that should stay private unless I link to it in a public post.

Wreak as much havoc with her as you like. Cam and the boys will keep her from killing the pirate. She loves the attention anyway. ;)

*smooches*

Well anything Sora says is defintely fair game!

And if Barbarosa needs help I know that Sora wants to get out more and junk XD;

It's almost sad that KH2 isn't out yet since they're going to have the Pirates of the Carribean level and all cause we might have worked soemthing where they knew each other.

[identity profile] kawalsky.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Anything I write is fair game. Kawalsky's not thinking so clearly with all of the testosterone flowing through his system right now, so he may be prone to accidentally talking too loud or leaving stuff where other people can read it.

[identity profile] 2ls-in-oneill.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Anything I write's up for grabs too, private or not. (Only reason I mark something private is cause it has to do with SGC, but that probably wouldn't stay secret for long with the new teach here)

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Except for locked and private posts, anything I do is fair game to me. I'm having way too much fun reading about everything on the radio.

I think it's a matter of how you look at the radio. If you see it merely as a "this post is interesting/funny/whatever", then I'd say even locked posts are up. As an official radio, I think it makes more sense to only use public posts.

Coming in late (I was out pretty much all weekend) to say -- one option for catching readers/muns up on stuff that Barbossa or helpers couldn't actually know, could be to have an OOC section at the end of each radio post. Maybe behind an LJ cut for those who don't want to know such things?
