Current(?) Friending Lists and Filters

Alright, the friending and filters were driving me crazy with trying to keep up, so I decided to avoid actual work be productive and make a new friending list.

To do the whole shebang, you'll have to go into your Edit Custom Friends Groups and create four filters: comms, students, teachers, and townies. Don't forget to save the changes before the next step!

Then go over to the Admin Console and copy/paste the entire list in (or one section at a time). Hit "execute" and it should do its magic!

Questions? Aren't on the list? A name in the wrong filter? That's what comments are for.

every time I tried to do the admin counsel part I get this message:

You don't have a group called ""

You need to make sure you have all the filters added first. Go to Edit Custom Friends Groups (http://www.livejournal.com/friends/editgroups.bml) and make four new filters with the names "teachers" "townies" "students" and "comms" before you go to the admin console. Then they should add correctly.

Now how do I view the friends list through filters?

Depending on the scheme you're using, it'll either be under "Your Journal" in the left hand column or under "Journal" using the scrollover link at the top of the page.

Beside the link for "Friends" there's an ellipse (it'll look like this Friends...). Click the ellipse and it'll bring you to the page where you can view your filters individually.
