Hey-dee Ho everyone. I need a favor from someone on the board.

Homecoming is October 7th (A Friday). However, I will not be able to post on that day. I will be stuck in a hotel ballroom with sweaty old ladies who want to know why I'm not married, and chugging at least a bottle of free white wine. Yay, work functions.

What I Need: Someone to post Homecoming Field Day.

I will give you explicit instructions a few days before so you know what is needed. I need you to host the post, and post a few comments to it for the various "stations." Other than that, everything will be taken care of in advance. The "volunteers" will know what is going on and will be ready, and I already have someone to post the dance (crown the King and Queen, have the ticket list, blahblah) so never fear. (Hugs to

It will SPAM THE EVERLOVING HOO-HA out of your Inbox though, so you may need to turn off forwarding for the afternoon.

You need to be able to post that Friday morning, and keep an eye on the thread to make sure nothing batshit crazy happens. Also, you can't use you posting the thread as a big plot to do something crazy to the Homecoming festivities. Do that IC in the thread, but the actual posting of the Field Day will be drawn up in advance.

And while I'm here: my characters will obviously not be able to go to Homecoming, so scratch the date idea for any of them, or the chaperoning. Sorry if they have tickled your loins erroneously. *wink* I knew that day was bad, but didn't remember why until today, but I didn't pick the date so I'm blaming someone else. But Rover, you'll still always be my baby.

I can try to find someone do the Homecoming King/Queen stuff if you'd rather not. That way you can just post the main dance thread, and the committee (music guys, etc.) can do the rest.

Not necessarily... just... it would be good to have an extra set of eyes keeping track of everything... I think the dance is going to be bigger than the field day stuff (but then again, who knows).

I wanted to be involved in the whole Homecoming thing, but it's a little OOC for Rory to get all that involved. But something like this i can definitely do, and I'm more than happy to help. :)

I can/will incorporate something that makes it OC for Rory to be posting field day. Let me think about it (I do know the fandom) - maybe Yearbook related? I'll run it by you at any rate.

Considering Rory's going to Homecoming with Logan, and I somehow doubt he'd encourage her to help, I think definitely think yearbook is our best route with keeping it in-character. Either that, or making Rory feel guilty - that always works.

She can make the post, but it would probably be very helpful if you could help her out/keep an eye on things. No new journal required, and you don't need to officially join Homecoming. Did I say you are fabulous? Because I meant it. And thanks for the work thing. My job does suck, but it lets me play online all day so I won't complain too much :) I'll try to weave some OC-ness in for you as well. Like I told Rory, I'll come up with it and then run it by you.

The easy in-character thing is that (assuming he doesn't kill anyone before then) Angela is going to Homecoming with Martin Blank, who could probably talk her into joining the committee just to keep him from getting bored.

Ahhh ha ha. Perfect. Don't feel like you have to show up at meetings and stuff though. Pretty much you show once, you get credit. (Sidenote - I love the two of you together by the way. It is like a personal wet dream as an old school MSCL fan and a rabid, rabid Cusack fan.)

I might drop in on the meetings anyhow, though of course Angela would do nothing but act extremely bored and doodle in her notebook. And whine about the ultimate meaningless of homecoming.

Did we want to do anything with regard to the music? My idea in the posts yesterday was to basically have a banner showing the band and post that with lyrics from one of their songs. Then the party goers can respond to the various songs/bands. I don't know what Lane had in mind though and was hoping she'd show up.

I have some mediocre photoshop skills that I can throw together for the event. Let me know if that's how it should be.

Yeah, we have a couple of weeks to figure it out, but what you are describing sounds like what I had in mind :)
