So, we're totally following the lead of the fantastic psycho_jackass, but it seemed the thing to do once it was confirmed that there was more than one of us. 8)

I just got invited along on the next field-trip thingie y'all do this weekend, so, yeah. I'm rather looking forward to it from an Rp standpoint.

(Also, DC suburbs is Frederick, MD atm, tho it used to be Falls Church. Maybe I'll edit to reflect that. I didn't want to be too specific at first, in case I was like the only DC person. And I'm tangenting.)

I don't know how much I'll be involved with the field trip, though I'm going to try to be there as Phoebe is the Assistant. However, I am going to be in Atlanta from the 27-3rd and will most likely only have interneet sparingly.

Myersville, actually. And that's obscure enough that I'm not even gonna try. I'm taking classes at Hood College this fall, tho'. It's my hometown, actually.

And I do hope you're around for the field trip, 'cos I'm certainly expecting the RP to be fun. *g* Yay, crack plot!

I'm in Newark, Delaware. Not sure where it is in relation to, well, anything, but I've been informed that I'm within longwalking distance of a train station that can take me to all manner of wonderful places.

In a relative sense, yes, absolutely. In terms of the amount of time it can take to get from NYC to one of those places, given the distance, not necessarily. That said, however, don't let me discourage you from wanting to come join us. It's definitely not an insurmountable thing.

On the other hand, though, master_of_fear was just bemoaning the fact that weren't any other NYC people in the comments to another of these posts, so I imagine they'd be happy to be informed that they are, in fact, not alone. 8)

Haha, don't I know it. I spent most of a formative years in Morgantown. Just wait until the winter! They take care of the main roads, but the back ones are scary as hell. Also, my grandma used to work at the WVU med school. Small world! Feel free to im me if you need any Morgantown-related advice. I know the town like the back of my hand.

My one question about doing it during homecoming is that my laptop doesn't have wireless, so I don't see how we could post and party at the same time. (Unless we rent out/take over a Cyber Cafe.)

Also, on the laptop question, does it have an ethernet card? 'Cos we maybe might be able to find a setup that offers ports as well as wireless. We shall see, tho'. Still waiting to get a consensus on where we should do this.

This is going to sound so stupid, but it's technically my husband's laptop. I know he can use DSL or a telephone modem, so I would guess it has an ethernet card, but I'm not completely sure. Would need to find out.

As for where/when ... it looks like we're pretty spread out, so maybe meeting on Saturday would be better for people who work? And maybe somewhere in Montgomery County would be more or less in the middle?

It probably does, even if it doesn't have wireless, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to check.

As for where, well, we're really dealing with three general locale groupings: Reston/Arlington/Silver Spring/Frederick, Delaware/Philly and NYC. As a result, going a bit further north than Montgomery County might be polite - say, somewhere in the Baltimore area, though if really wanted to roadtrip, Delaware might be even more even, in general, unless we're not talking about the NYC people, in which case - B'more. Not that we've actually identified anybody who lives in Baltimore, but . . .

Anyway, as for when, I was thinking it would be kinda fun for whoever wanted to to get together for the Homecoming thing, which would Friday the 7th, but we could probably work out a Saturday date to have a bigger bash, as well, if that worked for more people. So, uh, yeah.

I may be changing RL jobs in the near future and moving from Richmond to Baltimore (not definite, and no start date yet--gah!).

Which means that I may have a *much* shorter commute in the future (assuming I can make the next get-together).

Silly people, not giving you a start date. Still, though, Baltimore! That's excellent - it's a really cool city(all the people I know who live there love it, anyway) and, as you say, CLOSER.

So, yeah, you probably would. Heck, you could even eliminate the commute entirely by hosting if you felt so inspired. 8P That would certainly guarantee that it would be on a date when you could attend, anyway.
