Administrative Notice
Several weeks ago, the admin had a conversation with a player who had changed their characters canonical background. Everything was resolved to mutual satisfaction and all was sunny and bright. Many kudos to the player for being a good sport and understanding why it was done. However, it has come to the admin attention that there will need to be an addition to the rules to establish and explain this standing.
This is a reminder to all players that you are supposed to be playing the character you applied for. You have an established canonical background of your character, plus or minus fiddling with the laws of time and space to allow for age/timeline variances. You are not allowed to change your canonical background. When you applied for your characters, we approved them as they were. Changes to their background outside canon, after the fact, changes your character into something which was not approved by the admin.
Example: Angelus, Spike, Dru, Buffy, Willow, Xander, Faith and Oz all come from the same base canon. The have, however, chosen to pull their individual characters from different times and places within that canon and this has resulted in some reshuffling as things which are true for some characters don't apply to others. However, all base canon has remained the same.
Changes in your character resulting from things that occur in the game are allowed, encouraged and occasionally arbitrarily inflicted. All of these are good. Change and growth and insane relationships are what we are all about. However, unless you're in a plot with the Doctor that involves going back and changing your character's past significantly, you may not alter your character's base canon. Once you do this, you are no longer running the character as it was submitted for enrollment and your character is no longer the one approved by the admin.
This game was set up for fan characters to attend school and watch them interact like crazy. Literally. Enrollment was in place to allow the admin to review and approve characters. If, after registration, you made a major change to your character's established canon, your character will be asked to have their canon revert to standard.
Thank you.

Does whatever a Spider can."
Sure, it doesn't exactly rhyme, but that doesn't stop it from repeating over and over in my head.

Damn you, I'm going to have that running in MY head for the rest of the day.

But you actually applied as 'Ms. Gilmore-Danes' so I think you were approved as-is.

If you'd decided that Rory was actually a secret amazonian princess with a magic glowing sort that she could draw from the heart of her true love and had just been suffering from amnesia for all these years - or made her some sort of super hero with a secret identity who could leap tall buildings with a single bound - or made her the long lost love child of Spider Jerusalem and Sarah Connor - or had her win the lottery so she had a hundred million dollars...
... then we'd talk. These are extreme examples, but I think you see what I mean.

Duce is helping Oz get control of the wolf, so he'll be able to fight the change during a full moon, and potentially change at will or in extreme emotional situations...Since it is canon that he gets a handle on it...'sokay for Duce to help him, rather than the monks in Tibet?

Beka's base canon is that at this age she is a very gray character with a rap sheet, working salvage ops and scams with a friend. She lived on her Dad's ship, but because she and Bobby did stuff on their own, I've assumed she had one.
I've made one departure from the canon, which is that Future-Beka is a character existing outside the time and space of the episodes in which she was seen. Future-Beka is as far as Beka knows, the driving force behind her presence at the school, and has meddled in her life, allowing her flashes of things that she did not and would not have known until later in the series. It's a fairly major point in her relationships at this juncture that she knows she's supposed to end up being the mother of the Nietzschean race, and I did that because it's already happened in real time, time travel is confusing.
She's gotten Ghost wheel from Dierdre in weird things, but I've been trying to slide out of that anyhow because it's not fun.
I'll be awaiting the letter. *headdesk*

Ghost-wheel is new and can happily go away.
