I just want to say that I am appalled at the number of you people who play this game while you are at work!

Fandom High: My Fake School Trumps my Real School!

*HIGH FIVE* I had a paper due last week that I ended up pulling an all-nighter for...because I had Rory or possibly Becky caught up in some drama that naturally took precedence over RL. Hee.

I have two papers, a project and a speech all due within two weeks...and my biggest concern when I was assigned all of this was, "How is that going to cut into my

fandomhigh time?"

To be fair, though, as far as work (the money-making kind) goes...I do freelance writing and editing from home, and so it's pretty damn easy for me to stay on top of my job while still playing on here. :)

So very, very true.

My Fake School classes have begun to infiltrate my Real School classes. And you know what? It doesn't hurt any of them...or you! [laughs maniacally on the FH crack]

Hey, I'm only playing from work this week because my supervisor's on a trip to China and it's slow at work anyway, so I can get away with it.

My Creative Writing teacher asked if anyone could define "subtext" last week.

I almost answered "The magical land where Lee Adama and John Crichton have massive manlove makeout sessions."

Thankfully, I gave a real answer, instead.

Also, I had to enter a work order for one of our employees to take a trip to Denmark, and all I could think was "OMG Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants!"

Strangely, the paper is on cultural studies. I wonder if I can count this as research?

Yes. We need to work on this. This needs to be done. It may be impossible, but dangit, we can try!

Fandom High is a culture unto itself. You'd have the most original paper of anyone!

Are you saying we should actually justify the time we put into FH? :P

My work's cyclical, which means that sometimes I'm busting my ass to get things done, but a lot of the time I'm twidling my thumbs anyway because we're caught up and then some, so I might as well be playing and keeping my mind active. And I'm damned good at what I do and can get my work done quickly without sacrificing quality. :) (Nope, no humility here. :D)

Thankfully, I don't have class till 1:00 tomorrow. But still, there's this paper, and a lovely assignment on verbal valence-changing operations that I'm trying to pretend doesn't exist.
