Newspaper Articles - Need your help!!

Okay - so Veronica has been approved to write a series of articles for The Fandom High Times to educate students about their non-human classmates/teachers.

I need to know which characters are non-humans (and what they are), who is "out" and who is willing to be interviewed IC about Veronica. We'll also need to plan an IC way of Veronica finding out about your character's status and setting up the interview.


The first article will likely be on vampires, since a conversation with Angelus is what sparked this whole idea. Veronica will be contacting Angelus IC very shortly to set up an interview. I know Dru is a vamp, but I don't know if that is IC knowledge. Are there any other vamps on campus?

I'm thinking that a possible way for your character to express IC interest in being interviewed would be to read the first article and contact Veronica via her voicemail. Unless she already knows you.

Angelus told Veronica about the following non-humans:

Belthazor - demon (and V got a first hand glimpse of his powers in detention yesterday...)
Draco Malfoy - wizard
Anakin Skywalker - Jedi (he described it IC as a type of magic user)
Faith - vampire slayer

So, if the muns of the above are okay with it, Veronica will contact you IC to ask if you'd be willing to be interviewed.

Other "species" that Veronica & Jake discussed:

Dead People - Lilly, Charlie, Tara for starters - since V has interacted with all of them. I know that most people are aware IC that Lilly is dead... but not sure about Charlie & Tara. Also, I'm fairly certain I've seen the info on other people's info pages.
Mutants - Veronica is friends with Hank but I don't recall if they ever actually discussed his mutant status IC, though the blue & furry thing is kind of a dead give away. Also, V is currently working on a Journalism project with Rogue, but she doesn't know that Rogue is a mutant yet.
Aliens - The only one I can think of is Beeblebrox... but if that's not correct, let me know. And V doesn't know any IC.

I think that covers all the non-humans. I know there are a bunch of witches (and since V is friends with Piper & Phoebe, she'll totally be hitting them up for interviews). If there are any species I'm missing, let me know.

Obviously this is going to be a long term thing since she'll only be writing one article a week, so none of the interviews or character interactions need to take place immediately (aside from Angelus, obviously).

Jake, if I'm forgetting anything, let me know.

Lycanthropes - there were two known werewolves at FH but very few people know who they are, outside of school staff. Duce is known to be a were-snake. Feel free to come interview her. She's never been in the closet with her abilities.

However.. might wanna make a note that not all of these characters will tell you the truth.

Ooh - totally forgot about the werewolves. But again, V can only interview those who are "out" and willing to talk.

And you're right, it's entirely possible that some people may not tell the entire truth.

I think V & Duce are in journalism together... so I'll probably have her approach you there at some point... though I don't know if she would have ever heard the term were-snake and she'll probably be skittish about asking... we'll figure it out :)

And technically Charlie isn't dead. He *did* die, but he's alive and well now. His consciousness was just sorta snagged, stored and then put into a new version of his body. :)

If you're doing stuff on Witches Paige would help after her nervous breakdown, she is pretty much human though (well part human part whitelighter, who were human, so erm yeah, she's human)

chiana is not human...she's the only one off the top of my head I think. I don't think Maia fits into this catagory unless she is considered a mutant for having nonhuman abilities... anyway though Chiana would be a cool interview I think.

Lily is a witch, and as she's dating Draco and she's Angelus' "math study-buddy" either of them could have mentioned to V. Maybe Draco could even pull her in for his interview, if you're interested, that is.

FWIW, aside from Angelus, Buffy, Xander, Tara, Willow and Anya would all know Dru is a vamp, since they're all from timelines where they would've met her already in canon. (Not sure on when Oz came from.) Logan, D'anna, and Krycek know too, since Xander mentioned it to them. Not that any of them would have an IC reason to come to Veronica with that info, and not that I can speak for anybody's willingness to mention it if V brought it up. (Aside from Xander, obviously, who's more than willing to bitch about his undead roomie and all his undead roomie's undead incestuous fuckbuddies family, given the opportunity.)

Mystique is a mutant, though I barely see her around. Ummm...Anya is an ex demon, but something tells me she'd prefer to keep that under wraps.

The Tick is a super-human, I think. As I'm not that familiar with his fandom beyond the cartoon from the nineties, I don't know if he's just a really big, really strong guy, or actually possessing superpowers.

Oh Phoebe will definitely be interviewed - as will Piper :)

I don't think V has met Buffy - but as they appear to run in the same social circle, that's just a matter of time.

And, from what I know of BtVS canon - Faith & Buffy are about as opposite as possible when it comes to Slayers - so it would be fun to have both POVs.

Stark is a cuddly little alien. (Well, I think he's cuddly and that's all that matters. Really.)

He's only got half a face and the rest of his head, most of what's under the mask, just kind of leaks pretty light. He's glowed at people in the clinic, so there are people who know about it. And he babbles often about talking to dead people and crossing them over, so there's that.

Kitty Pryde's a fairly out mutant, so I'm sure someone could point you in her direction. For example, if, one day, you were to mention in the library while Janet were there that you were looking for mutants to interview, she could bring up Kitty Pryde as a potential interviewee. :) Let me know if you want to do that, and I'll be the one to open the library tomorrow so we can chat.

V hasn't met Kitty yet - but I believe that will be changing soon.

However, V may swing by and try to access special collections to do research... I'll let you know (and I'll have to talk to Spider, obviously)... it won't be tomorrow though (mun is too busy).
