FH Awards - Round 2: The Results are in! (OOC but IC)

It's another gala event at Radio City Music Hall. Celebrities are everywhere and the entire school walks down the red carpet all decked out in the lastest fashion trends. Starr Jone is again asking inane questions. Joan Rivers has appeared to take the "Brazil" method of facelift and Kathy Griffith's body lays in an alley someplace drained of her blood and a strange looking wound on her neck.

As everyone files into the theater, Marty steps up to the microphone.


"Before I announce the awards, tonight we have a little treat in that we are going to have our own Fandom Idol competition, where various students/faculty/townies who I'm blackmailing will sing some classic TV theme songs"

Act I: Veronica Mars sings "Fame."
Act II: CJ Cregg and Toby Ziegler sing "Green Acres."
Act III: 6 sings "Moving on Up!"

Stepping up to the microphone, Shane looks more than a little stunned. "Um. Wow. All right. Hey," she says, smiling awkwardly. "So, I, uhhh... I guess I -- I won. Um." She blinks for a moment, looking bewildered as she scratches a hand through her hair. "God, uhh - thanks. Thank you, so much, to everyone who voted for me. This really means a lot. Thank you."

Cheeks flushing faintly pink, she sketches a small bow and blows a kiss to Tara and Kate in the audience before slipping off stage.

Angela makes a face in Marty's general direction. "I have to do this?" she mouths, before taking the stage.

"Wow. This is totally unexpected, and ... it's weird to win an award for one of the two five six eighteen most painful moments of my life here at Fandom High. I guess I'm glad it at least provided some entertainment for you people.

Marty ... fun as it was, let's never do it again. Everyone else, thank you for voting."

Marty leans in after Angela is done and jabs his thumb at Angela.

"Yeah... what she said. I'd like to thank the Peanut Gallery, just because they make everything fun. Also, just want to publically thank Angela for putting up with all the hijinx I cause and for being such a good sport in general. As a performer she's the tops. I'm just happy she lets me ride on her coat-tails."

Lee looks a little nervous as John isn't here yet to accept the award with him.

"Um. Ladies and gentlemen, this award means a lot to us. Thanks to all who voted for us, we appreciate your interest...um.... We'd also like to thank Logan for hosting the party all those months ago where John and I met (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/5447.html?thread=328263#t328263). And..." Lee waits for John to come up to the podium...

The Tick walks up to the microphone holding his two awards. "Wow. I... I really didn't expect this. There are so many people to thank. Our school admins here, for giving a wacky crimefighter from The City a chance to fight Ignorance instead of ninjas. My sidekick, Rory, for grading stuff in so many colors that even I can keep track of what's going on (and congrats on your award, too!). Major K!, Camboy, and all of the other Heroes we have around here! You have made me feel at home here, and I thank you! Monster, our tour guide at the zoo! I still can't believe that trip went as swimmingly as it did! CJ, for being so darn mean and letting me switch to Drama Mode! Dean Bristow for pretending to be me for Halloween, which I'm sure led to a few mistaken votes in my favor!"

The music starts playing. Tick's natural sense of Drama kicks it into high gear as he continues talking.

"So many people. My class, of course! If I am the Butter, then you are the toast! Thank you for letting me spread my Academic Goodness into every nook and cranny of your brains! Without you, this Best Teacher Award wouldn't have been possible! Seriously, it wouldn't be!"

A couple stagehands are now trying to move Tick from the stage by force. He doesn't seem to notice. "And finally, congratulations to all of my fellow winners. You're all REALLY KEEN! And my nominees for these awards," Tick said, holding up his awards, "I want you to know that I wish I could share these with you. But they're just SO SHINY! And mine! Shiiiiny."

A stagehand has now put a large, vaudevillian hook over Tick's head and is attempting to pull him offstage. Tick, having finished his speech, walks off stage in the opposite direction, dragging the poor guy behind.

Mr Canute Mimir Fluffypants cannot speak, as he has no mouth, but has brought both of his creators onstage with him in hopes that they will interpret his thoughts. He is surprised and happy that he has won two separate awards. He nods his head back and forth to show how happy he is. He waggles a hot pink paw behind him to show that he owes everything to H-prime and D-prime, the wonderful, intelligent, perfect paradigms of manhood who programmed him with everything he knows. He would also like to thank everyone he met that night, who was so nice to trade him things, especially pie. Wonderful, wonderful pie! All your things make him happy. He hopes that H-prime and D-prime will turn him on again one day so that he can make more friends. As a closing note, he hugs himself to show everyone how much he loves them, which both squeaks a little and turns on a newly built-in speaker of A-beta's 'Little Bunny Foo Foo' song. He waves a paw, wipes a hot pink tear from his yellow yarn eyes, and backs away from the microphone.

"Oh, wow," Rory breathes as she takes the podium. "I don't know what to say. Thank you to all of my friends, and my parents (and by parents I mean my mother and Luke because, wow, my dad sucks), as well as my teachers. I couldn't have done this without you. Oh, and thanks to my totally awesome dog Vladdie, too, because he's just adorable! Yes he is!"

She begins blowing kisses to the audience, and walking offstage - though, after a furtive look at Logan, she stops the kiss-blowing rather abruptly.

"I wish to thank everyone but Mr. Blank for this award. I'm pleased that you all voted for me, especially when so may others had equally impressive layouts. I'd most like to thank Angelus, who gave a young sociopath the opportunity to truly expand his evil repertoire. I'd also like to thank Draco Malfoy my total boyfriend BFF and roomate, my layout is way prettier than your girlfriend's!

And lastly, I'd like to say that I hope Martin Blank didn't vote for me, because that would piss me off. Martin Blank you are a dead man!" Jonathan smiles wide and holds his award over his head. It's possible his eyes are looking for someone and that his fingers are tightening on the award.

"I guess I really must be a Chosen One after all," Anakin said with a blush. "I'd like to thank all of you for making my time here at Fandom High so full of humiliation interesting. And for voting for me."

He glared out at the crowd. "I would not thank the Pirate for spreading that awful, awful CD of my musical debut. And especially no thanks for selling it to my old teacher."

A lady in a tweed jacket, leather patches over the elbows, shows up. Her long brown hair is pushed back behind one ear, possibly to display an eyebrow arched in an almost permanent expression of skepticism.

Her eyes scan the crowd, sparkling darkly with something akin to amusement. "We at The Tentacle Weekly would like to thank our loyal readers for this expression of their support. We very much value your continued readership."

She steps down from the podium, nods her head, and leaves.
