Simplifying assumption: we're gone

I suspect most of the American FH'ers have family commitments around now.

To save wear-and-tear on the friendslist, would it make sense for everybody to assume nobody's available unless you see him/her actually posting? That is, we're all out for the duration unless we say otherwise?

[P.S. I thought that all our friendslists would be shorter if people were reporting their presence rather than their absence. It sounds as if this is a bad idea; I withdraw it.]

I won't be gone. I know the availablity announcements are a pain, but I think they're necessary.

I agree with Logan. I won't be gone either, but it is helpful to know who won't be around via availability posts.

Me neither I'm in the UK so I'm hoping a fair few people will about.

I'll be around. And Lana needs to find Wes. She's terribly confused about why Wes took off from the hospital the other day and she's not one to just let things go. *grins*

Sounds good! :)

Yanno, even I think that we have too many comms and yet a comm for notifications of absence may yet be a good idea. I dunno about you guys, but a centralized place you can go to to see who's gone isn't that bad of an idea. I dislike having to scroll through my (way too massive) friends list to see who's available and who's not.

I'm actually on board with this. I just hate having availability stuff in my characters' journals. It just bothers me for some reason.
