OOC Reminder: Use of Game Communities/Character Journals

Hey all,

Just a quick reminder. Seems we overlooked clarifying this in the latest revision of the handbook.

As a general rule, the main game comms ([livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh, [livejournal.com profile] fandomhighdorms, and [livejournal.com profile] fandomtownies) are used for classes and schoolwide events, large interactive scenes and situations. Events that take place in common areas of the school (i.e. the gym, dorm hallways, common rooms, the basement, etc.) should go into the comms. Posts taking place in student rooms or private areas should go into character journals; this is why it's important that everyone utilize [livejournal.com profile] krycek_rat's friending list and keep all player journals friended. (We're still waiting on three more new player journal names to get submitted, at which point the fabulous Kry will be issuing a list update.)

[livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh_ooc is for general announcements and gamewide posts; please keep Out-Of-Character notifications for player availability in personal RP journals and label them as OOC.

There is a little bit of grey area, and we ask you to use your discretion in those matters. If you're not sure, feel free to catch one of us on AIM or email and ask for clarification. I swear we won't bite. (Well, I can't vouch for the others, but neither Zordon nor his NPC minion assistant Alpha 5 have teeth.) Or you can ask questions in the comments below.

Thanks, everyone!

*snorts* Yeah, because that's so much less freaky.

Zordon might prefer a pretty yet evil robot woman over a 17 year old boy, you know?

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
He might. Of course, he also might prefer having hands.

(Zordon/Eighth OTP!)

(Zordon/Eighth/Smith OT3? Wow, that's really frigging creepy...)

I can just steal into his consciousness and give him a Matrix-like fantasy world! OMG!

Just remember to use the right guy/girl/being/whatever. *rolls eyes again at Fifth*

RC is far better at the figuring out the true OTP in her Matrixy worlds than Fifth. OMG DANIEL/OMA.

You say biting like that's a bad thing.

Posts taking place in student rooms or private areas should go into character journals

I was a little fuzzy on that one myself, as I remembered there being a lot of "Room Blankety-blank, my door is open" posts in the dorms comm in the past; my vague impression was that room-posts closed to certain parties should go in personal journals, while open-door ones made sense to put in Dorms. (This is very likely due to how often I don't start posts, cough.)

Hee. Yeah, that's the sort of thing that falls into the "use your judgment" grey area, I think. If it's an open-door room post where there's a possibility of a good number of students getting involved, then it could conceivably go into FHDorms. Though gods know I've had a few open-door posts that, erm, ended up getting NWS, so if there's a chance of that happening then yeah, private journals.
