Mystique and Mac will be back. I have downloaded a browser that, unlike Microsoft Internet Explorer, allows me to do something besides post outright to LJ. That allows me to, say, read my friends list or respond without seeing the words "Cannot find server.". So activity will pick up. Apologies for lack of involvement while this was an issue. I'll be on tonight on AIM if anyone needs me.

Edit: I was overly optimistic. This lab does not allow AIM Express. Rats! Foiled again!

You might could try http://www.meebo.com. It's a client that runs in a browser window. So far, it seems to work fairly well for me.
