The Gentlemen: A quick primer
Hello there. My name is Nick, I just freaked myself out by watching Hush to refresh my memory, and now I'm here to give you a quick primer on those wacky little demons we call The Gentlemen.
In the original episode, the Gentlemen used a magical box to capture the voices of everyone in town and prevent them from leaving. This way they could take their sweet time collecting seven human hearts that they needed for... something. Honestly, I'm not sure what.
The Gentlemen cannot be killed by anything but the scream of a princess (referring to a human voice). Stab them, shoot them, whatever, they won't die. That doesn't mean you can't slow them down, though. They aren't big on fighting. Mostly they will try to scare you BY BEING CREEPY AS HELL and use surgical tools on you when you're held down. Finally, they're well-dressed and float kind of slowly above the ground.
The Gentlemen are generally accompanied by The Footmen, their grunts. The Footmen wear untied straitjackets, walk on the ground, are fairly quick and strong, and are totally killable. At least, their necks are totally snappable and they don't get up afterwards. These will the attackers/fighters in most situations. They're also the guys who will try to hold you down while the Gentlemen break out the scalpels.
We realize that not everyone is likely to be familiar with Buffy canon or - like several of us - just haven't seen the episode in years. Hopefully this brief rundown helps everyone a little with the action that will be taking place this weekend. If you need any clarification on what they can or cannot do this weekend, feel free to ping an admin and we'll either tell you the answer or make one up.
