Big Sibling Program!

'Lo, all!

So, those of you who were around last winter remember the Big Brother/Big Sister program, right?

For those who don't, we basically set a new character up with an old one who volunteered, and they ICly show them around and help them with what they need.

OOCly, if the new character's mun is new, then the player of the Big Sibling is charged with helping them get a feel for the game.

We have a new batch of new kids coming in, and so we're doing it again!

Please volunteer if you fit the following:

- Your character won't be antagonistic about helping out someone (Rory will be running the program ICly and your character can be signed up against their will, or something, if you would really like to do this, but please don't sign up if they're not going to be helpful to a new kid.)

- You have the time to possibly field questions from a newbie, and will be around consistently for the next few weeks.

- You have been in the game long enough to have a good feel for it. I encourage you to only sign up if you've been around since at least the start of spring semester, but if you guys who have been here this summer think you can handle it, more power to you. :)

Please snag me or any of the mods/admins on IM or via email if you have any questions. Please sign up by 7:00 PM EDT on Saturday the 26th if you are interested in being a Big Brother or Sister so as to give us time to match people up before newbies arrive.

If we have an overflow of volunteers, the Secret Sibling program will be put into effect again. Details on that will follow if neccessary.

I dunno if I could do it but I wanted to say that maybe next time we could have this at least OOCly when the summer round starts. Cuz I would have loved having someone show me the ropes. It was sorta scary being a newbie (I still feel like one even) and it would have helped my nervousness factor having a friend right away to talk to about how to do this and that. It's a really nice idea having people paired up and things though.

We should have had something like this for summer semester, but it was a very chaotic time and considering all of the stuff that was going on behind the scenes, we were lucky to have anything running for the summer at all. We're more prepared this time around and hopefully will be for next summer as well.

No need to apologise :) I just wanted you to know that we weren't intentionally dissing any of the summer newcomers at all. We only want what's best for all of our players, but sometimes we just can't deliver. We're working on improving our system all the time though, so hopefully we'll be able to do more for everyone :)
