Student Council and You!
Yes, it's that time of year. Josh will be the advisor for the Student Council again, so I wanted to give you a quick rundown of how it works, both IC and OOC.
IC, three characters from each class will be elected by their peers to be their representatives and those characters will then choose the person to be President. The rest of the offices we ignore for ease of RP (as we do fundraising and lamenting the lack of school spirit which took up the vast majority of my time on HS student council).
OOC, the Student Council gets to plan group activities (with the advice and consent of the admin, of course)--dances, field trips, game nights, etc., which means that deciding to run your character for office means that you're aware of and up to taking on some additional IG responsibilities.
To keep campaigning on the "student council races in high school" side of things rather than the "bloodsport but legal" side of things, we're not going to hold debates and are giving you all a pretty short window in order to run a campaign--the elections will be Sept 20, which is two weeks from today.
This is a great opportunity to use your class comms to hash out who is interested in running (you want to run your character but make sure they lose, you want to run your character but need an IG prompt to do it, etc.), as well.
So, questions? Comments? Recipe for pie?
