Okay, I've tried to write the info post for this several times, but my computer keeps crashing. Bleh.

So, here is the plot calendar. Any questions? What needs explanation or clarification?

Not necessarily. It depends on how much your guest coming would affect any of the plots that are on the schedule. This is something that people will still need to come to the admins to find out.

I suggest that you might want to look into switing to google calendar (http://www.google.com/intl/en/googlecalendar/event_publisher_guide.html) instead of a spreadsheet. Just to make it simpler for the person who maintains the calendar, which I assume is you.

Also, is there a key for who's plot is when?

I looked at google calendar and, for our purposes, it is simpler for me to use the spreadsheet. If I used the calendar, people would want more information than we are willing to give out. We will not be listing whose plot is when. This is by request of several people who contacted us when the plot calendar was first suggested.

This plot calendar is just meant to be an overview of what dates are available. It is not meant to be a place for people to decide what plots they want to be involved in.

In the case of closed personal plots (i.e. any plot where someone asks only specific people to be involved), everyone involved should know when the plot is occurring once it gets final approval. With the open personal plots (i.e. plots where people will be asking for volunteers through plotterywheel), the dates should be listed in the informational post.

*rereads all that* That was the explanationy info stuck in my head from when I first typed this up. That wasn't meant to be a lecture in any way. You were just the lucky person to ask the right question. :D

Is there a way to clarify who's got what plots going on? Not "ZOMG spoiling EVAAARTYING about my character!" but something like "Bel's running a personal plot with a handful of people-closed" or "Blair sit-in field trip-open" so we know who's running what (to get in on the action or to not involve their charas in potential plotty)?

Some stupid questions, go me!

1) Would you be able to give a quick run-down of what the colors mean for the plots we've already gone past? (Like, I'm guessing the dark blue on March 8th is Girl Day, and then the dark red that weekend is the flooding?) It might help explain what the terms mean exactly in regards to how this affects characters and all that.

2) We have a prom? Really? AWESOME. I didn't know that.

3) If we know ahead of time that we're going to be AFK on certain weekends, should we note it somewhere? Does that change if there's game-wide plot running?

4) Exactly how is summer going to work? I know there are workshops and cabins and some people stay and some go but - that's the full extent of my knowledge, right there.

1) Sure thing! This is part of the reason I've left February on there for now. I'm not going to give a complete list for February, just one time each color gets used and in the order that they are listed in the key. Be warned, this is probably going to be long. *takes deep breath*

Personal plots:
Feb. 1-2: Green 1 = Personal plot - sign up open (PPO): This was the Creepy Shadows plot. There was a post up on plotterywheel asking for volunteers to be involved in it.

Feb. 3: Green 2 = Personal plot - closed (PPC): This was exorcising the Source from Blair. No post was made on plotterywheel because all of those involved were chosen prior to plot approval.

Game Wide Events:
Feb. 5-9: Grey = Game wide activity: This was the school board visit. Events in this color are a different from game wide plots because it is very easy for characters to go about their daily lives and completely ignore the events.

March 8: Dark Blue = Game wide plot - partial cast effect: Guys become girls plot. This color is for plots that characters will have to make an effort to avoid, but only really affects part of the cast. In this case, guys could choose to turn into girls. If a character wanted to avoid the plot all together, they would either have to stay in their room or leave the island. This is standard practice for all game wide plots. Dark Blue was used in February to designate the Wee!tiny teachers weekend also.

March 9-11: Maroon = Game wide plot - full cast effect: The flood. This color designates plots that will affect everyone who chooses to participate.

Other?: (I separated this from personal plots since the characters involved are based on IG reasons)
Feb. 23-25: Light Blue = Club activity or field trip (CA-FT): This was the trip for the cheer leading competition.

Multiple Plots:
Green 3, Orange (which both combine two different plot types) and the asterisk all designate when there are multiple plots happening at the same time.

For example, the first weekend in March (2-4). It is Green 3 with an asterisk. I used both because there were multiple open and closed personal plots. There were, in fact, five personal plots occurring on that weekend. They were all contained enough that they did not conflict with one another which is why we let them all be scheduled for the same weekend.

Thank you! I didn't mean for you to have to type so much out, but it really helps alot being able to compare and contrast past plots with the colors and use that to gauge what's going to happen next and how much of an effect it will have and all that good stuff!

3) Not necessary unless you had plans to be involved in a plot in which case you only need to tell the person running the plot. The only time you need to alert the admins to an absence is if it will be for an extended period that will make you miss classes with your student (which is how we keep track of who is active and who isn't) or if you will be unable to make a post for your townie for a long period.

4) There will be an announcement about that in the next couple weeks.

Hee, and thanks for this as well! Cool, in re: #3 I know of a few weddings and whatnot that are going to keep me AFK for those weekends, so I was curious how that went down.
