Secret Santa Signups!

So, it's just about that time of year again! I mean, I know this is kind of late, anyway -- five whole days after Thanksgiving and all -- so my apologies for not jumping straight into the holiday spirit, feet first.

Anyway. The past couple years, we've done an OOC Secret Santa gift exchange, and we'll be doing one this year as well. The way this works is that you sign up in this post by Saturday, December 1. By doing so, you will be assigned a Secret Santa to make you a gift, and you'll also be responsible for a gift for someone. Emails will go out either that night or Sunday, depending on how wiped I am after work (restaurant work is HARD), telling you who your RNG-assigned Secret Santa is.

You will have until December 23 to make them gifts, and here's the catch -- you can't buy anything for them, with the exception of paid LJ time, or extra userpics, that sort of thing.

When you sign up, please include a list of things you'd like, as a note to your Secret Santa. Example:

Merry Christmas! I'd love it if you could get me some more icons for Robin (

canadianpopstar) because for some reason no one icons the very beautiful Cobie Smulders! I always love new layouts, and icons, and other LJ goodies. Fic is good - my fandoms are [insert fandoms here], and I looooove new music, if you feel like uploading. And anything else you can think of! I leave it in your capable hands, o sekrit, sekrit Santa of mine.

Links to these comments will be provided in the emails sent out this weekend, so that you'll be able to get right to work on your gifts.

You can make as many or as few things for your Secret Santa as is convenient for you, and the notes are, naturally, just guidelines -- you don't have to follow their wishlist to the letter! It's just to give you an idea. Please do remember that you signed up and are responsible for a gift for them, though.

On December 23, we'll do our reveal post, where you can give and receive your gifties!

But I can't list pi to more than five decimal places off the top of my head, so don't ask.

Should we also list when we sign up what we can and can't offer ourselves? (ie whether we can make icons or what fandoms we feel we can write in, etc)

Oooh, you can, but it's randomly assigned. So on the offchance that you end up getting someone who doesn't read fic in the fandoms you write, that's the time to resort to music/graphics/etc., or finding caps to make icons without understanding what you're looking at, which is what I did last year. :D

I would like a pony for Christmas. Barring that, I would love icons of Luke, FH fic of just about anyone doing something Christmas-y, and Hayden Christensen tied up with a bow. Photoshop that one if absolutely necessary ;)

I love music (all sorts--my iTunes scares my husband with its cracktastic variety), and pictures of shiny people. A list of links to teh pretty is a perfectly wonderful gift to me!

I'd love some Giles icons, though I love Winchester icons just as much. I'm just more in need of Gileses. For that matter a header for my

exwatcher lj would be cool too.

If you prefer doing gifts of the fic variety, I love schmoopy stuff, especially this time of the year. My fandoms I love to read in include Supernatural (yes, I'm sure you're shocked), Buffy/Angel, Star Wars, Dark Angel, Nightrunner, Firefly, Heroes, Doctor Who/Torchwood.

I love hearing and acquiring new music as well. Especially songs that remind people of my favourite characters and fandoms because I'm always looking for new inspirations for vidding. I'd love anything that falls into that kind of category.

I would like a hot Asian man who can cook and will wear nothing but an apron (just not while stir frying). Barring that, I would love any sort of icons for Yondaime, Haku or Sora and layouts would make me squee like a mad, mad, squeeing thing.

Dear Santa of indeterminate gender but, given the game distribution, is probably a she,

I would like a pony and a dragon for Christmas if you could be so kind. But (*sigh*) failing that, any type of icons, graphics, or other shinies for Aly, Peter, or Katara would be intensely awesome. An LJ header for

tricksy_spy would be the best thing ever too.

I happily and excitedly read fic from any of my fandoms and would flail delightedly were that to tickle your fancy.

I also adore getting new music, especially music that reminds you of characters or 'ships here at FH.

Dear Most Sexiest Santa Ever,

My greatest wish this holiday season is for more Zoe icons that are just nice, plain bases. It seems like the icon makers out there love to make Zoe icons funny colors, or add a ton of text which does me no good. :(

I would also be squeeful at new music, especially songs you think might relate to any of my characters, or FH-related fic. Or Jared Padalecki wearing nothing but a finely placed bow, but that would require a reeeeeeally big box.

Hi Secret Santa!

Happy Holidays! I'm always looking for new icons for Prue, Dick and Meg. Other LJ stuff is awesome too! I love fic based on FH characters (especially my own, hee) or my character's Fandoms. And I'd never turn down music if you feel like uploading, especially if they remind you of characters or ships at FH. And because I'm a FH-addict and already have plans to bring in new characters already after my kids graduate, icons of Caboose from Red vs. Blue or icons of Liz Lemon from 30 Rock would also be shiny.

And, um, if you want to take my finals for me I'd appreciate it.

To the BEST SEKRIT SANTA EVER OMG (and no I'm not just buttering you up for shinies, really)-

I would like a pony and someone to beat up LJ until they give at least 200 icon spaces.

If neither are possible, I'd love love love icons or graphics for any of my characters (Jaina (especially if they're of the like, six workable book cover art images or Sophia Bush icons that don't have "BROOKE" plastered all over them), Hermione, D'Argo (who doesn't get enough love), Aeryn and Jaye).

I am also a music fanatic. I especially love newer music/smaller type bands I may not have heard of, but I'm not very picky and listen to pretty much everything.

For Christmas I would like a pony and Joe Quesada fired. Also some kind benefactor to pay my way through grad school. As I understand these may be difficult for you to obtain, I also want some other things.

I would love some icons for Jean-Paul or Jenny--especially anything of Jean-Paul in civilian clothes--or a layout for Steve. Fic, FH-flavored or in one of my fandoms, would also be awesome. Or music! I like all kinds of music. Seriously. Ask my college roommate, who, on the first day she met me, realized this was going to work out when my playlist switched from Eminem to Loreena McKennit. So, yes, all music. Except for, like, bubblegum pop, but you wouldn't do that to me, would you, Santa? Or, you know, anything else you think of. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be great.

Hi! I like things! Things like icons or a shiny header banner for Valentine here- which I understand can get a wee bit on the tricky side, as finding screencaps of him on the internet can be a challenge at best. But, you know? I like stick figures, too. Draw me a Valentine stick man, no matter how stick-y he might be, and I could potentially die of squee.

Barring that (because I know how to read on top of my YAY GRAPHICS obsessions), fanfic (FH or otherwise) for any of the characters I've played in Fandom, going way, way back (

You can't go wrong with more paid icon space for either of my characters (those being

blackmagic_eve). Or, should you be of the creative variety and good with the blending and manipping, icons of the following: Sean/Savannah (same PB as Eve), Eve/Savannah/Sean, Eve/Savannah, or Eve/Gwynn (PB: Keira Knightley) -- because everyone needs best friend icons. Or just icons in general.

Fic involving my FH kids is love. Fic just for my fandoms in general, though -- Heroes, Criminal Minds, CSI:NY, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Women of the Otherworld, and Charmed -- also love. Any combination, also love.

Ummm, layout would be amazering, but I don't know how to upload those, so you'll have to teach me.

Dear Santa, oh, Santa, wonderful Santa of Joy and Love and Radiant Bliss,

Music is good -- basically everything but rap, hip-hop, and country. Even more than music, however, is mixes. I love fan-made/home-made mixes, especially done upon some kind of theme. But music in general is yay; lately, I've been on a bit of a choral/gospel kick, so if you've got anything there to introduce me to, that would be awesome.

Icons are good! We like icons. Especially extra icon space for Ronan. And icons to go with it!

Fic is good, too. Especially Young Wizards fic, there's not enough good YW fic in the world, I find. I tend to be less into crackfic and more into plot-based and/or character-based stuff -- not necessarily draaaaaaaama, I like comedy, too, but more witty rather than cracky. FH fic is awesome, too, especially for Troy or Lulu.

Or, well, y'know, pretty much anything you want to throw my way. I'm not too picky. :)

I'd like a DeLorean with a flux capacitor and MJF for Christmas. Barring that...

I like music a lot, so I'd love a specific mix or even an introduction to new stuff. My tastes are pretty broad, and enjoy almost every genre but death metal, old school country, and rap.

Fic would also be great, either about my FH characters past or present (in any direction you want to take that), or the original series they come from. Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (Japanese anime version - especially S or Stars), Pushing Daisies, Reaper, Galaxy Quest, Metroid, and The Muppets are good non-FH suggestions for fandoms I like which aren't also on my Yuletide wishlist.
