Weekly Entertainment

It's Sunday again.

Time for weekly entertainment.

So here's a standard old question:

If you could go to meet someone, anyone, dead or alive, fictional or real, in all of time and space... who would it be?

alternately

Bill and Ted: Timelords. Yes or no?

Julie Andrews. No, really. I just LOVE her like whoa.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I've always wanted to have a game of croquet with Lewis Carroll, and then sit and chat over tea.

That's just the easiest, first-to-mind answer I've got. My list is probably almost as long as my potential-character list.

Alternately: Keanu Reeves = 12th Doctor? Y/N?

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, they need to decide soon. The sooner they get a 12th Doctor, the sooner we can start making fun of my fiance even more for when he was having medication hallucinations when he was in the hospital, claiming that he auditioned to be the 13th.

(Personally, I think he should be ginger. He's never been ginger before!)

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Really, really. The stories of his hallucinations (there are more involving terrorists hi-jacking the intrawebs, the nurses all being spider monsters, his marching band jacket being a suit of impenetrable armour, and the one large male nurse who kept having to put him back in bed being a viking warrior with a lightsaber) almost made it worth the fact that he was in the hospital with a potentially fatal sepsis infection. XD

No squash or mariachi hats, though, sadly.

solo_sword: (really?)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2008-08-17 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, I think that may be the best hallucination ever.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
*NODS* They put that man on some truly, truly magical drugs...

Alternately: Keanu Reeves = 12th Doctor? Y/N?

The icon says it all.

I wanna talk to Natalie Wood and Marilyn Monroe and find out WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM. Is that lame?

[identity profile] time-flyer-5.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, if you ever get a chance to do that, I wanna know what they have to say.

[identity profile] im-afrog.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Not lame at all.

I'm curious, myself.

[identity profile] brandyforapples.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Third on the 'wanna know too'!

...what about Amelia Earhart?

[identity profile] veryarthurdent.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Have you heard about her new biopic coming out? Saw a tiny bit of it being filmed in Toronto. I'm intrigued.
solo_sword: (thinky)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2008-08-18 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm curious, but not as curious as the other two. No idea why.

[identity profile] repeterpetrelli.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Jack the Ripper's victims while we're at it. Or, yanno, Jack. Just to have closure.

Ooooh, that's a good one.
withoutverona: (Greetings from Verona)

[personal profile] withoutverona 2008-08-18 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I like that one too.

Oh, and D.B. Cooper.

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Mary, Queen of Scots, because it was a book report on her that got me hooked on history and genealogy.

And, strangely enough, I've never seen the Bill and Ted movies.

[identity profile] wyld-stallyn.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Dude!

Haven't used this journal in a while, but I think the situation calls for it. Because come on. Dude!
likethegun: (i'm making an innocent face)

[personal profile] likethegun 2008-08-17 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
...omg, do not ask the history major to pick one person. I could possible whittle it down to a top ten list, if you gave me a decade and gender.

As for Bill and Ted, I now want that crossover so badly.

[identity profile] ella-obeys.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Shakespeare.

SUCH a surprise from me, I know, but ... yeah. And despite the fact he'd most likely be a bit of a disappointment in person, and have an almost indecipherable accent to boot. (Though I refuse to entertain the possibility he would turn out to be named Edward de Vere.)

I'm TOTALLY NOT RIGHT HERE WITH YOU ^_^

[identity profile] ktarian-wildman.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
The Doctor.

That way I could go back in time to any period, if the Tardis decided to actually work. I'd actually love to meet Gilbert & Sullivan, I'm a massive fangirl of their operettas :)

I actually haven't seen Bill and Ted before though.

[identity profile] veryarthurdent.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Gotta agree with the Doctor. Seventh, Ninth or Tenth incarnation. I'd include Tom Baker's version, but he'd probably weird me out IRL.

[identity profile] time-flyer-5.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, my list was Fifth, Ninth, and Tenth.

And ditto on Tom Baker.

[identity profile] veryarthurdent.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
I'd want to smack Fifth way too hard on a regular basis. They need Time Lord Valium or something for him.

[identity profile] veryarthurdent.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
I just realised what I wrote after I left the comment. You'd need Time Lord Valium for ALL of them.

[identity profile] time-flyer-5.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, I was about to say! Fifth would probably drive me nuts too, but I can't help my Davison crush.

[identity profile] veryarthurdent.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
He is adorable. And not a lot of men can pull off wearing celery as a a fashion accessory. I'd definitely pick him over Sixth too. Although man I'd love to watch them stuck together. It'd be like a 80s sitcom.

[identity profile] repeterpetrelli.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Is it wrong that one of my first instincts is weekly tea with Tim Gunn?
solo_sword: (smile)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2008-08-18 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
No. No, it's not.

[identity profile] crazypilotman.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Bill and Ted: Timelords. Yes or no?

Juvenile timelords. Hey, they all have to start sometime/somewhere don't they? ;)

As for the meeting; the Dali Lama and (okay cheesy answer here but) my great-grandfather. Since I don't know anything about him except that he was a Blackfoot Native American.
