She is large, drooly, and completely unaware of how large she is. Also, she loves everyone. As physically as she can.
...
By which I mean BODYSLAMMINGLY.

Known to us as Alex (Hayden) and Weasel. ...Yes, both references to the Marvel mercs, shh.

I prefer cats. I have been thinking to get another, my kitty of 12 years passed away last September. I still miss him sometimes.

I like both but I can see the appeal of both depending.

stealadopt him. He's wee and very scared of people so it's taking a lot of patience. My mom wanted to name him Pollux, but I think we finally reached a consensus on naming him Maori.

We will be naming them LOL and ROFL.
Best. Cats. Ever. Even if I'm more of a dog person.

I would like to start myself another freshwater aquarium. I used to be a nut for brightly-coloured cichlids, but a few years back when I moved up to the city, I was unable to keep my tank for lack of space. Now I'm living in a house with room to spare, so I might look into starting another one.
But the animals don't end there. Also living in my home (though not belonging to me) are two more cats, a rabbit, and a corn snake.
And we want more. Yes, we're nuts.

I was a nice, normal bird lady, I swear.

ETA: Though my mom is constantly threatening to buy me a puppy or a kitty, and my grandma did give me a puppy my junior year of high school. Thankfully, my mom intervened and he went to a family friend who wasn't terrified of dogs.

I am going to take the opportunity to share a pet story, though. See, about... oh, four roommates ago, one roomie who we shall call J. had a stickbug. She was teaching in a class where their class pet stickbug had wee stickbug babies and she brought it home and kept it in a little plastic thingie on the kitchen counter. And it grew and grew and then it turned into THIS. I hated that damn thing and it freaked me out (I'm fine with bugs, as long as they're not big bugs) and I kept insisting it should pay rent since it obviously needed its own room now. And it got bigger after this pic was taken.
About six months later J. moved, taking the stickbug (named Sticky, btw), and one day she went to put him in the plant she had outside on the balcony for some air... and the stickbug ran away, never to be found again.

Here, have a picture of Yoda and Rowdy (http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a230/sammie_jo_/YodaRowyd.jpg) together.

Growing up, we always had three cats and a large dog. I really really miss owning multiple cats, but it's just not practical in my apartment.

We also have three ferrets: Roxas, Hervey, and Tobi Lucifer Wade Wilson.
Shhhh. We couldn't agree on one name, so he got three. We're dorks, which is why they have fandom names (Kingdom Hearts, Suikoden, Naruto/Lucifer/Marvel). They're great kids, especially Tobi, who is a shoulder-ferret and loves hoodies even if he's big enough now that him sitting in your hood makes it awfully hard to breathe. It's sad, though, because we don't have much time to devote to them...so for their sake we're looking for a new home for them.no subject

Seem to have this thing with naming my pets after food.

We did end up taking in my sister's cat while she was overseas doing research for her thesis, and I was very happy with that. But it turned out that my dad was severely allergic to cats. After having to rush him to the hospital because he couldn't breathe, I had to find a new home for the cat.

We sort of have a third cat, Christmas (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v114/StargateAddict/Picture%20Meme/124-2449_IMG.jpg?t=1219612975), except she's an outdoor cat and has become somewhat wild in that she'll only come around to be fed and then scamper away for a few days. Yeah, silly thing.
I soooooooo unbelievably want a huskie. One day. One day, I shall have one.

You all know Chase, because he's running around Fandom. Only, Rikku calls him Petey.

Someday I will get a dog. A nice big dog that can eat people I don't like...

Previously we used to have another rabbit called Snowie who died quite a few years ago (actually I'm surprised that he lived for as long as he did) and we've had several pet mice even though we no longer have them because dad had the habit of accidently killing them because he kept leaving them outside.
I want to have a pet cat but no one in my family likes them so I have to wait until I move out of home before I can have them. I already know that I will be naming them after characters from the musical Cats (I really want a cat called Skimbleshanks).

Mostly recently, my fish named Madrox died. He lived a long and prosperous life for a goldfish.
I don't have any larger pets of my own for the moment, but when I settle in one place for a long period of time, I'd like to get a Newfoundland dog, a couple of cats (I get lonely without a cat around) and maybe a rabbit. Rabbits are illegal to own here, so they're a novelty.

... that's my (and Sokka-mun's) cat, Chase.
He really is that stupid. And adorable. And a cuddleslut. N found him by a dumpster, mewing and crying, and brought him in all LOOK, HE IS ALONE AND NEEDS OUR LOVE and he was the most adorable dumb little thing I'd ever seen. We already had two kitties, and the apartment building said we couldn't have more than two, so I was hardlining on the point, but .... being practical does not work in the face of So Much Cute.
As for how he ever wandered into the game? .... Never, ever ask a chatroom to talk you out of writing class about your dim-as-hell kitten. Enablers. :)

Pets and me = kind of a running joke. I am a BIG animal lover. To the point that when I go to Meijer, I don't impulse-buy candy or anything -- I'm way more likely to accidentally come home with a parakeet.
To date, I have had: two betas (Winslow and Pintsize), five goldfish (Marten, Dora, Hannelore, Faye and Sven), two parakeets (Jaye-bird and Buster), one hamster (Bristow), one dog (Toby), three dogs by roommate-proxy (Yoda - roomie 1; I don't remember the other two dogs' names because I kind of hated this roommate and blocked out everything to do with her), nine cats (K-Mig, Mickey, Jagger, Domino, Burbank, Moose, Sully, Patches the Ninjacat!, and Mowgli), one cat by roomie-proxy (Baby) and one lizard, Mohinder, who was shared between myself and my awesome old roommate before he moved away.
As of this very moment, I have three cats (Sully, Domino and Mowgli, who's a kitten), and that's it. I've been very good and haven't bought any small animals, mostly because given that I moved back home, I have a lot less control over the environment and the cats could easily upset them. I want very much to get a puppy when I'm stable (school and job-wise) enough to do so, because I love dogs possibly more than any other kind of domesticated animal -- my last serious boyfriend had pitbull puppies that used to knock my tiny little self over, and I've always wanted something similarly large and dorktastic.
My roommate still puts the lizard on the phone when I call, though. We're dorks.
