Elections, Fandom-High style

It's Student Council time! This year Nathan will be in charge of it in an advisory capacity ~~God help you all~~. What we need now is some - what's the word - oh yeah, students.

StuCo will be comprised of 7 students total. 2 seniors, 2 juniors, 2 sophomore, and 1 freshman.

IC responsibilities for StuCo members include:

* Showing up for meetings
* Hosting Parents' Weekend brunch
* Homecoming Carnival
* Prom
* Hosting other fun events (eg field trips, flowers for Valentine's, finals coffee breaks)
* Any other tasks Nathan comes up with

OOC responsibilities for StuCo members include:

* Pinging into said meetings (they'll happen every other Friday, posted by yours truly)
* Volunteering for and actually doing the posts for Carnival, prom, etc.
* Coming up with ideas for fun events to do
* Organizing and implementing said fun events
* Coordinating with me to make sure we get admin permission for anything that needs admin permissioning
* Volunteering for and actually doing the posts for Carnival, prom, etc. Which I am mentioning twice because if you think I'm doing it you are insane.

Since Homecoming is going to be upon us sooner than we think (Oct 11 for those of us playing the home game) (or for those of us playing at work too, not that anyone I know does that) (Ahem) the campaigns kick off now!

OOCly: If you want to throw your character's hat into the ring, fill out the appropriate thread below. This will also count as handwavily filling out the same form IC and giving it to Nathan. This is the bare minimum requirement for getting your character's name on the ballot.

ICly: Campaign your little hearts out! Put up posters, give speeches, kiss babies, hand out buttons - whatever. You don't have to do this as part of the election. However bear in mind that you're asking to be elected to a job that requires more work IC and OOC so campaigning might be a good way to show both yourself and everyone else if you've got the time to put in to the task.

Deadline for signup is 11:59pm Eastern September 20th.
The day of the election will be September 22nd.
Winners will be announced September 23rd.
The first StuCo meeting will be September 26th.

3) Previous experience: I was on the Student Council last year, I've been a library aide for two years, and have been a teacher's aide for a number of past and present teachers.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: A ~~Christmas~~ Winter Holiday Dance/Party/Celebration type thing.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? I work well with others, I have previous council experience, and I have two years worth of experience surviving what this school likes to throw at its students.

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I was a bartender at a club back home! Now I work at Pixie Dust in town.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: There should be an auction of all the hot, shirtless men of Fandom.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because I think I'd be a really attractive asset to the council. And I can make snacks.

3) Previous experience: Library aide for nearly a year, teacher's aide, prepped for the military academy, learned under his father, Commander Adama
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: StuCo sponsored field day highlighting on a male versus female tug o' war with the winner receiving bragging rights and the ability to order the losers around (within reason) for a week
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? I've been interested in law and politics for awhile (inherited from grandfather Joseph Adama) and now know how to sets of governments work. I'm personable and open minded but bluntly honest.

2) Class: Senior
3) Previous experience: Was on StuCo back in Gotham City, was a teacher's aide numerous times, worked in lawyer's office back in Gotham.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Arranging a vote for senior superlatives, having a field day of sorts where the different classes fight against each other in various activities.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? I've had student council experience back home and I've always been interested in law and politics.

3) Previous experience: Back at Arcadia High I volunteered with at-risk kids, belonged to the chess club and the cheerleading squad and held a job at a bookstore.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: A 'songfest" competition where students write skits and songs about life in Fandom and compete against the other classes.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? ~~God told me I had to run.~~ I'm enthusiastic and willing to work hard.

3) Volunteering and organizing Wayne Foundation charity events in Gotham City. Student Council during freshman year at Gotham Prep.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before. Charity work around the holidays. A food drive for the needy in nearby areas of Maryland, toys for tots, a winter ball/fundraiser for people still in Fandom over break.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? I have experience giving back to the community and would be able to bring that into student government.

2) Class: Junior
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I've had experience as a TA, I work at Stark Industires and I'm on the Cheerleading Squad. I've been involved in numerous clubs since I came to Fandom. I also served as a Captain's Assistant to the Commanding Officer on the starship that I used to live on prior to coming to Fandom.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before A celebration party/dance of different cultures from other countries/planets
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? I'm reliable and honest. I believe in working hard and I'm also committed to making sure that tasks assigned to me are completed on time.

1) Name: Jennifer Sparks
2) Class: Sophomore
3) Previous experience: Served on the Fandom High Student Council as freshman representative last year, president of the (defunct) God Is Dead, Oops Club, weekly radio broadcaster with Reno, employed at Pixie Dust. Prior to Fandom I ran assorted posthuman task forces, including the Authority, served as a colonel in the British Space Group, and worked with and organized various world governments as a first responder to posthuman threats.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: How about a substance abuse prevention education campaign?
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? Because I'm experienced and intelligent and will bring to the position the dignity and class it deserves.

3) Previous experience: I'm a lieutenant in the secret police back home, and I'm apprenticed to a Jedi who is now one of three beings running the galaxy. I've picked up a lot from watching.

5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? ~~Everyone else in my family is on a Council...~~ My family has a long tradition of service to the government. I want to follow in their footsteps.

5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? I should be elected into Student Council because not only do I have the wit, the intelligence, and the experience to be a great representative, but I also have the listening skills and a sincere, heartfelt desire to help make Fandom a better place not only for just my fellow juniors, but the school as a whole. I am always a hard worker, and I will strive to do what I can.

Plus, we can save a bunch of money because I'll donate lots of stuff from the store, and that money can go to more useful things around campus.

3) Previous experience: I am a close friend of the heir to the throne at home and have had the chance to talk to him about governing. In Fandom, I work at Luke's Diner.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: A cultural heritage day, where students could share foods and cultural mainstays from their home worlds. Tutoring.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I learn fast, I'm quick on my feet, and I'm diligent about my duties.

Unbeknowst to Dor a glitch in the system submitted an application for him

2) Class: Junior
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Dor has been rigorously trained in the matters of governing and government by the best centaurs available. He has also been mentored by King Trent od Xanth.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Field trips to other students/faculty members' worlds.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Dor would make an adnirable member of student government and do his best to serve his fellow students. He just doesn't know it yet.

3) Previous experience: I was part of an afterschool group that helped keep New York City safe.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: A Secret Santa for everyone without families back home.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because I want to help.

3) Previous experience: Frequent leader of fellow students in group exercises prior to Fandom, currently working at Stark Industries. I'm also a teacher's assistant.

5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? I'm analytical, I know how people and communities function, and I'm a hard worker who simply wants to help. I have a lot of experience in leadership.

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I’m currently working at both Wellspring Arms & Meditation Centre, and at the Clinic. As well as, when I was at home I worked for my parents at Yamanaka Flowers. I’m also currently one of Tyler-sensei’s T.A.’s.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: A school-wide observance of Arbor Day.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? Because I’m dynamic, personable, and hard working.

4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Paintball? I found it on the computer thing.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council? Because Fandom needs to have a representative that's willing to state what the people want and help them get it.

For anyone who'd like to offer any OOC or IC assistance to the campaigns - graphics skills, volunteering to come up with slogans or hand out cupcakes, whatever.

Nathan should DEFINITELY be shirtless for StuCo to encourage school spirit.
