...this has got to stop being a habit. Srsly. Next week! On time. Even while I'm on hiatus due to wedding. That's what hotel room wireless is for, isn't it?

Er.

Anyway! On with the show.

What kind of shoes do you like best?

...I've got this pair of Crocs that aren't really Crocs but they're awesome because they look like real shoes on the outside and I will wear them until they die. Srsly.

Dude, thank goodness I still have THIS icon without my paid time cause I don't think I could RP without it. *random observation*

Wow!

My feet are totally the wrong shape for Chucks, unfortunately.

Holy crap. I don't think I've seen that many Chucks even at the store!

I used to buy the exact same pair of trainers every two years or so, whenever the shoes gave out. I finally wound up exchanging them for a pair of more expensive-ish leather ones, and those have lasted me since.

...

Yes, I only own about one pair of shoes.

I...like heels. In my defense, I'm 4'11'' and they help me see over counters. I have this pair of black sandals, that every time they wear out, I buy a brand new one, exactly like the old ones. My friends are in awe of me wearing the same sandals constantly for six years now...

I also have a pair of sneakers I do that with. Sketchers, two pairs, blue and silver and black. They're a very specific design. If they ever get discontinued? I will cry. Same thing, I replace them whenever they wear out.

I also am in love with my Faithful Converses. They're Converses with a black cat on them!

Oh, and those cute red pumps with the mesh and the bow, and the cream sandals with the chunky heel, and the black sandals with the six inch heels, and the short boots that I never get to wear since hello LA.

And sometimes? Plain old flip-flops. Of which I only have three pairs.

...I have 36 pairs of shoes. Not including slippers and flip-flops.

When I'm around the house I like wearing slippers (because I'm lazy like that), otherwise I either like wearing my joggers (which tend to last me a while) or my ankle boots.

My shoe collection is not particularly very big.

[identity profile] crazypilotman.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! That is me! I think I wear slippers more often than anything else. (seriously, I can kill a pair DEDZ. my last ones looked like they went through WWIII)

[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
I am such a shoe ho (yes, I should be asleep, shhh.) I have somewhere between 45-55 pairs of shoes at the moment, and I'd say probably a third of them are heels, a third are sneakers/flats/slip-ons/Chucks, and the rest are flip-flops. See above with Alanna-mun and the height issue -- if I'm out somewhere, I'm usually wearing either heels or some chunky wedges, since I'm 4'10" and OKAY IT'S NOT MUCH BUT IT HELPS.

I'm not PICKY about shoes, really, I just like them to be cute. I have a ton of shoes in fun colors, probably about ten different pairs of black shoes with varying heel size, toe exposure, fabric and so on, one pair of snow boots because I do, in fact, live in the Midwest, and one pair of slippers that look like bumblebees because THEY ARE AWESOME AND ADORABLE.

Relatedishly, I also have this thing about perfectionism and I'm really kind of vain, so I always have my toenails painted. I recently got a REALLY gorgeous pedicure, with dark sort of aubergine-colored polish with little white designs on the big toes, but for the majority of summer I had them black (the upkeep is easier than with a light polish) and I'll probably go back to that after my pedi goes away.

Docs. Got a pair of 8 holes for work and 14 holes for special occasions (Halloween and RenFest).

Either those or my winter boots (yes, even in summer) for work. Not work? Rockin' the sandals. Can't remember the last time I wore shoe-shoes and not boots.

[identity profile] crazypilotman.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Docs! Don't have any myself.

Yay sandals!

I would be a total shoe whore if I could afford it because I love them like woah. And weirdly, I hate wearing shoes but if I have to wear them out dammit, my feet will look cute. Mostly I like open-toed shoes with a bit of a heel to them, so I can show off my painted toes. Though I have a pair of satiny kitten heel strappy shoes that I adore.

In high school I didn't wear anything that wasn't a heel or didn't have a platform on it, to the point that no one knew how tall I actually was. I ended up stopping this eventually (my prom shoes would have been 4", I think I realized I had a problem when I wanted to wear something that might classify as a stripper shoe) and kind of kept to 2" or less, at least till this week when I tried on a glorious pair of hot pink 4" pumps and could still walk like I was Tyra.

Barefoot sandals! (http://www.barefootsandals.com/sandals.html)

I would totally wear these ALL THE TIME if I could, seriously.

Which is not to say I don't own a ridiculous amount of shoes, because I *do*. I love cute shoes. I almost never wear them unless I'm dressing up, but I do love buying them.

Steel-toed boots! I have had the same pair for six years now, and they are clunky and grubby and broken in just perfectly, and still not falling apart.

Also, they have saved my toes hundreds of times. Mine. <3

I have probably several pairs of shoes, but really only wear one or two.

A pair of sandals (as in the all-purpose ones, not those fancy looking ones) which I wear until the weather gets cold, and then it's a pair of sneakers.

I don't really have a thing for shoes. *shrug*

...socks, on the other hand... :D

[identity profile] thankgoditsme.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
Combat boots. I can't afford a good pair, but I used to have a pair that I wore until they literally fell apart. I have terribly weak ankles thanks to 8 years of netball (bad, bad, bad for ankles and knees and, y'know, life), so any boot with good support is goooood. Docs come in second because of combining the awesome look with the boot-likeness.

I'm pretty in love with my ballet flats at the moment. They are comfy and not like really wearing shoes. Because I hate wearing shoes, even though I own a TON. The first thing I do when I get home is take off my shoes.

I wear a lot of sandals and flip-flops. Stuff that I don't need socks for, basically. I really don't like having my feet covered. But, of course, I have several pairs of loafer-type shoes and boots since I live in the DC area and we get lots of cold and snow.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
My favorites are my flip flops. Mostly because they go on and off easily and I never ever wear shoes in the house.

But since I cannot wear flip flops to work (WOE) my favorites are then my 3" suede-like wedges that make my feet say OW at the end of the day. Honestly I'm not even sure why I love them when they cause such pain other than the whole beauty = pain thing.

(it's weird to talk about heels and then pick an icon from this account)

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
I had a pair of green Chucks (same color as in the amazing display up top in the comments) that I wore throughout college with a pair of fushcia socks and a completely non-matching skirt in brick reds.

Shut up, it was nineties, I was in theatre, and it was the most comfortable outfit I've ever worn, even if it looked dumb and would have gotten me a spot on What Not To Wear. I could look down at my feet and be happy.

I have a pair of purple ones now and I love them just as much.

Also, I have a pair of brown clogs that I love and would wear much more often if I didn't fear I'd fall over every time I wear them out of the house.

[identity profile] thismaskiwear.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I've got a pair of the Offroad-style Crocs (the ones with the covered, reinforced toe and the super-thick sole vaguely resembling a tire) that I wear pretty much on weekends and most Fridays because they're about the most comfortable thing ever.

I also love my EcoSneaks (http://www.simpleshoes.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=2121&categoryID=356&g=m&model=Sno%20Tire-%20Certified%20Leather) (the Skiffs (http://www.simpleshoes.com/ClearanceDetails.aspx?productID=2161&categoryID=220&g=m&model=Skiff-Hemp) are actually quite comfy too and are my general workday shoes these days).

But then, I also love my Skechers boots and my Docs and that pair of all-terrain insulated hikers I have and . . . I like shoes. Clunky shoes, mostly. Because I'm short, but . . . I don't know. I just like clunky shoes.

I have boots for Weather, really. Which is hilarious. I live in Los Angeles.

Hee! I like how the first links to mens' shoes. Since I've never bought a pair of mens' shoes for myself. *ahem* *is lying* What?

I go more for functionalty than pretty, and I couldn't find a pair of 'sandals' in the womens' section that weren't like dress-up stuff. So a quick cruise to the mens' section (actually I wound up with a boys' pair ;) to get the kind of sandal I wanted.

I'm strange, I like my barefeet in sandals, but the sandals themselves have to be able to handle things like rocks - big honking rocks - streams, sticks, etc...

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I've got myself a pair of work shoes that are nice and dressy and black and are comfy enough to walk a lot in. They are awesome. Even if the right one Teeeechnically has a puncture hole in the sole.

Other than that, my favorite shoes are my awesometastic Frankenstein boots.

I call them that because I can't bend my ankle in them, so I kina have to stomp around like the monster from the film 'Frankenstein'.

[identity profile] minnesota-teen.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, I love New Balance. So comfy. I wear those most of all, although I have more sandals and flip-flops than I know what to do with. I see a cute pair, I buy them. I will literally buy an outfit just to go with a pair of shoes I found and had to have.

I have tons of heels, from spiked to wedges, open toed and closed. I have a few Mary Janes that are adorable, and a pair of hot pink 3" heels I actually haven't worn yet.

I love shoes but hate feet. But my toenails are always painted. ALWAYS. And when at home? My feet are never bare. I HAVE to wear socks. My feet are usually always cold and maybe it's more habit than anything now, but I love socks! Srsly. I'm weird. I have more cute socks than I do shoes. These (http://www.ae.com/aerie/browse/product_detail_view.jsp?productId=5729_7113&cName=Dark%20Heather%20Grey&img=5729_7113_553&view=Large_265&status=1&lsize=short) were my latest purchase and I <3 them.

Right now, I rock the bare feet most days (*is like Tahiri, la!*), but when I do go out, it's all about the chunky Nine West slides that make me taller (in my heart, I'm 5'5". In the real world, not so much.). I also have a very nice collection of black high heels because I worked in a Very, Very Conservative profession. (Trufax: on the floor of the US Senate, you can't wear open-toed shoes. It made summer a paaaaaain.)

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm... not a big shoe person, to be honest. Usually end up in this sort of thing (http://www.germes-online.com/direct/dbimage/50074670/Walking_Shoes__Hikking_Shoes_.jpg) or flip flops. If I have to be smart, little ballet flats.

I do have one pair of heels, some Sketchers. But they make me feel about six feet tall, and hideously out of proportion.

I am happiest barefoot. I get to be barefoot at work even!

When I am not barefoot and it is above, say, 50 degrees, I usually am wearing my Tevas. I had one pair I wore for 8 years (maybe it was 9...) before I finally admitted I'd worn them so much they were no longer comfortable.

I'm pretty fond of my Docs too, and my Merrell boots for when it is cold. But I would much rather be barefoot or in sandals.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Unlike Parker, I have only about 20 pairs of shoes. My faves are either the black flat sandals -- no buckle, no heel, just a nice matte strap across the instep -- or my blue velvety slippers. I have high high heels, and some nice boots, and a pair of really comfortable Crocs, but those two are my favs. Not even my Avias work as well. That said, I now look at shoe sites and wish like hell I would eve make the money to buy Parker's shoes (http://www.jimmychoo.com/pws/ProductDetails.ice?ProductID=71891) for real. But $500 for a pair of shoes? Gaaah.
