Concerning the Location of the Game

Hey everyone! We wanted to take a minute before major zombie madness starts for an announcement.

A few weeks ago, the admins were contacted by the LiveJournal abuse team. In their e-mail, we received complaints about some of the publically posted underage sex in the game, and separate complaints from a handful of publishers concerning copyright of characters. In addition, it's become abundantly clear to us that LiveJournal's servers are not as robust as they used to be. There's been considerable periods of slowness, random error messages, and complete downtime that have made playing far more difficult.

With these two things in mind, we've decided that as of May 9th - the start of the summer semester - Fandom High will be moving to DeadJournal. We chose DeadJournal over the other services available because, well, it's dead, and this is good for us in two ways: one, everyone should be able to claim their exact same journal names over there, and two, with no one else really using the service, we won't have to worry about loads of users slowing the servers, or taking them down completely.

We'll have more information for you all as the moving day approaches, so for now, just mark your calendars so you don't miss the date!

Actually, I've been permanently banned from Deadjournal (due to something COMPLETELY not my fault since technically I wasn't IN Milwaukee so the law doesn't apply, not that the reasoning for applying WI laws made any sense, wtf judge?) so I guess that this means goodbye from me. It's been fun finally getting to play with you all!

You know, I hate to say it but I've actually had a problem with all the underage sex in the game. I realize for some people it's canon and blah blah, but even if it's not my characters and it's in locked posts I still feel like it's too close for comfort, yanno? Especially for those of us logging in from work not that I know anyone who does that, ahem

Anyway, point being I think this move is only going to encourage more of it, especially if those rumors of a Harry and Draco showing up for summer break are true. So if the admins don't come down on the underage stuff, and the non-canonical pairings, and frankly even the drug use I'm just not sure I'm comfortable playing anymore.

I suppose I'll stick it out until the move but after that I think I'm going to leave the game. There's another RP that's got some good Dean/Castiel potential for me anyway, so I'll just join that.
