Detention and You!
It's finally time again, student never-do-wells: detention's back this Saturday, with the one and only John Mitchell to kick it off! We... probably could have picked a better celebrity for that kind of introduction. Anyway. In any case, from 8 AM till 2 PM this Saturday, detention will be run for any and all who've wound up for it.
That means it's time for a refresher course for you oldbies, and a little info for you newbies!
What Is Detention?
Why, the school's official big disciplining method for unruly students, of course! Or... anyone foolish enough to roll into it at random. In Fandom, you can earn detention for simply breathing - if you've been signed up by an evil mun beforehand. For most of a Saturday - 8 till 2 in Fandom Time, so there's plenty of time to set stuff for afterwards - students in detention will be forced to jump through a teacher's hoops for their crimes.
This can be anything from running a full army workout track to playing out America's Next Top Model, depending on which teacher is in charge. There's crack, there's fun, there's making those poor little bastards sweat.
How Do I Get It?
By misbehaving in class or otherwise offending teachers - or by signing up in the handy dandy RNG post we put up whenever we have a teacher volunteer for the week. By throwing your character's name into this post, you sign them up to be 'randomly assigned' detention. All of this is, of course, with your OOC permission. No one wants to steal your Saturday.
Well, maybe Sam.
In any case, detention, once gotten, is ICly mandatory, and the poor victims will be announced on Friday by the IC administration. They can then sign in on Saturday, and deal with whatever the teachers see fit to throw at them.
I Have An Adult, Can I Play?
We are always looking for teacher and townie volunteers to run detention on a Saturday! Just leave a ping on this post with the closest date you'd be able to run things on, and we'll see about fitting you into the schedule. Of course, we can only run one detention a Saturday, so watch out we don't get double-booked. We'll be keeping a schedule of volunteers for the occasion, should it be needed.
Please, please sign up. It's a fun excuse to make those minions dance for your amusement. Dance.
My Character Has Misbehaved But I Don't Have Time For Detention, What Do I Do?
Detention, as mentioned, isn't OOCly mandatory. OOC communication is your friend - if your character misbehaves in class, but you don't have time to play it out, you can usually work out an alternate punishment with your teacher.
That is the low-down on detention this semester! Questions, comments, pie, a pitcher of blood for the vampire?
