Recast Your Canon Meme!
It's been a while since this was done so I thought I'd throw this out and see how people responded. Plus it's raining so therefore I need additional entertainment.
Sometimes when you're playing in a cross-fandom setting, you start to realize that certain characters have taken on the role someone else has in canon. The point of this meme is to take a look at the canon cast list and see who in FH could be cast as the character.
For example:
- Katchoo would be Worf's Tasha Yar at FH. She has the same fiery attitude and Worf respects that type of thing.
- Cable would be Worf's Picard, especially with Nate's way of convincing him to look at matters from a different perspective. Or at least make him watch The View.
So in other words: Recast your canon using FH characters and feel free to explain us why!

Victoria --> Robin. Well, long legged, tall, brunette female that Fraser's in love with. Any day now, Robin's going to go criminal.
Welsh --> Zoe. Strong, caring authoritative figure. It fits.
Thatcher --> Cable. I mean, obvs, they're different genders but it's the same tough, resilient, by the book until the book is wrong sort of thing here. There's respect both ways but still some distance.
Frannie --> Rory Gilmore-Skywalker. The younger woman who's always concerned and perky and inquisitive. Totes fits.

SHE WILL STEAL DIAMONDS AND SUDDENLY GO FROM HAVING CURLY HAIR TO STRAIGHT AND BACK AGAIN.

Aniki -> Rose or Kennedy. Dunno why, but there it is.
Kora -> Tara, but that's just me matching mages.
Ersken -> I see Jonas and Jonothon fitting in here. And Kennedy too, she doesn't want to stick to one category.
Matthias Tunstall -> Honestly, she knows nothing about her teacher, but Ronon has hill barbarian written all over him.
Pounce -> Pounce and... Emma. Which is weird. I know. And yet, she likes to tease Beka and at the same time watches out for her.

Darcy Parker --> ....Darcy Parker. Seriously, there's no one in Fandom as thoroughly and specifically fucked up as Darcy. Arguably, Wisheverse!Katchoo combined with Wishverse!Eliza Doolittle might manage it. If you stretch it across the Clusterfuck, though, Nimueh might make a pretty good Darcy.
David Qin/Yousaka Takahashi --> Merlin, except he fell for the wrong girl. He's the earnest, good-hearted, understanding friend who also has an untangle-able romantic connection and secretly hides big pointy teeth behind the bunny ears.
Freddie Femur --> Chuck Bass. Freddie's a schlub who wants to be Chuck, and Chuck would stare at Freddie in horror, but they fill the same role in Francine's life, as That Guy You Were Really Stupid About Who Taught You Not To Be Quite So Trusting But You Can't Quite Stop Forgiving Him.
Casey Bullock --> Arthur Pendragon
*RUNS*
Okay, fine.
Casey Bullock --> Dinah Lance, with a side-order of Arthur.
DinahCasey is the bouncy blonde cheerleader with a heart of gold who ... isn't the luckiest in love but keeps trying. ButArthur'salso the one who keeps waiting forMerlinDavid to untangle himself fromFrancineKatchoo, and settles for the parts she can have, while she waits. (And still manages to be real friends with the person who stands in the way of getting with the guy she loves. Twice over, in canon.)Brad Silver --> There isn't one, thank God. Not because he's a bad person, but because he exists in canon to represent This Is The Perfect Man And My Last Chance At The Life My Mother Wanted For Me, cue the endless round of will-she-won't-she that turns everybody into asshats before it's over. We never get to see the development or anything real of his relationship and marriage with Francine until it falls apart. I much prefer the FH alternative.
Griffin Silver --> Brad's quirky and kind of laid-back rockstar brother who has a weird gentle fascination with Francine. Under the right circumstances, this could be Mitchell, personality-wise. Francine keeps wandering almost close enough to become one of his lost sheep, and then slipping away.

. . .
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Now I'm picturing Katchoo doing the whole "I'LL POP YOUR IMPLANTS!" thing at Arthur and al;sjkdfaopisufl;jasdf.

Marshall --> Bobby. This is the most obvious one ever. They're her little brothers.
Buck (yes, I get to recast alters as independent people) --> Jason. 'Cause he's a Southern dude who likes beer, sex and porn.
Seriously, though, Kate's canon people fail at having counterparts in Fandom. She thinks this is a good thing.
And as far as Kate's position as other people's canon stand-in goes, I'm pretty sure she does a pretty good job at filling in for Mitchell's Annie. At least when it comes to womanly wrath.

Morgana - beyond actual Morgana - Katchoo. The sibling figure (where you're the only one who can look her in the face when she's naked, sibling figure) who understands you just a little bit too well to ever be a romantic prospect, who gleefully tears into you with words and yet obviously loves you under the surface.
Guinevere - Francine. Quiet, sensible, motherly, kind, and in her own kind, quiet way, capable of telling even the Prince of Camelot to STFU and act like an actual human being. It works, guys.
Lancelot - ... probably Zack. He's got that whole devotion to principle thing going on, as well as being a right hand in combat situations, and a knight-type whose worldview lines up with Arthur's enough that he's very, comfortingly familiar.
Merlin - ... Merlin.
Uther Pendragon - the guy can mess with Arthur's head across time and multiverses. I don't think there's *anyone* who'd ever be able to replace Uther for Arthur. They're just too perfectly dysfunctional.
Gaius - Could be Nathan Algren, in a way, in that 'sensible normal voice of reason without being all bossy about it' kind of way.

Sam -- Bobby. C'mon, guy she likes/crushes on periodically whose thoughts aren't accessible to her? Totes easy.
Tara -- in a way, Lois works here, because she has the attitude, though she's not as crazy-in-your-face sassy as Tara is. TV!Tara, anyway.
J.B. -- awww, come on. Guy who's so sweetly dim that it just doesn't matter if she hears his thoughts? That's Toby.
Eric -- in a way, I kind of see Adrian here, though he's (sorry) a bit less badass than our favorite Viking vamp. He just has that same kind of back-and-forth with Sookie. Plus she finds him kind of sexy in a forbiddenish way.
Barry the Bellboy -- EVERY TELEPATH IN FANDOM. But specifically, Emma. Someone who Gets It, finally, with the powers -- Emma's the best at that.
Hoyt -- I sort of throw Hurley in here -- sort of Sookie's go-to sweet guy who she knows'll always have something nice to say to her.
I keep trying to come up with Pam and Claud/Claudine but no one fabulous enough has sprung to mind for them. :D
And I hate Beeeeeel, so no one is stuck with him.

Helena -> Arthur, to a certain extent, the person she wants to be/beat but listens to when it comes to training.
Barbara -> Ghanima, both as a voice of reason and belief in Dinah's ability to learn and become an adult when she's not sure herself. Also, a certain amount of hero-worship there.
Gabby -> Tony, Dinah's BFF who just happens to be gay. Heh. Also, way more confident about love and his place in the world than Dinah, like Gabby, and encouraging of Dinah, same. (We don't get to see her much, but she's very cool).
Alfred -> Priestly, in his own special way, feeding her and telling her not to jump off things, but way younger and with better hair, and there's UST every once in a while. There's no UST with Alfred.
Jim Gordon -> Nathan Algren, older adult guy who Dinah goes to if things get really weird, although she's never called Uncle Jim anything like Uncle Hot Jim. [Despite this being true.]
Jesse Reese -> Derek Morgan, by virtue of being a cop and Jesse's twin, or Geoffrey, being the same adult guy you tease on occasion but still listen to.
All Dinah's other friends don't have counterparts in New Gotham, but that's one reason why Fandom is a lot better for her-- she gets to be the older sister/comforter/random cheerleader that being the New Girl and Sidekick in Gotham didn't allow her to be. ETA: Although, re-thinking it, half of Dinah's friends are similar to the future Justice League, or are on it (*waves to Raven and Jaime*) so that's another thing here.

Gary of Naxen - Kyle Reese. Too smart for his own good sometimes, very serious, needs a bit of lightening up. :D
Raoul of Goldenlake - Bobby Drake. Hilarious, A bit rambunctious.
Rispah, Queen of the Ladies of the Rogue's Court - Emma. I can't even begin explaining except to laugh a lot.
Alanna of Trebond - Both Jean and Karla come closest. But no one really though who fills that half-mentee, half-crush spot.
Lightfingers - Mat. Dude. So Mat. Another rogue, someone who's teaching him things, oh yes.

, latent crush objectclosest friend.Alai - Karal, to an extent
barring the Feelings, quiet and calm and boyish and sagely but still keeping an eye on things.Petra - Karla, most likely. Impulsive, quick on the trigger, going by the heart most of all.

Which is mun for 'awwwwwwwwww'no subject
Fiona --> Beka. They match up pretty evenly, actually. The girl that Jonas is friends with, feels comfortable around and yet, has no idea about? Pretty much fits.
Asher --> Codex. It's not a great fit but it's more of a friendship that's built on a lot of superficial information but with the ability to grow.
The Giver --> Ender. Completely. Ender's not nearly as old as the Giver but he's playing the same helpful caretaker role.

Abigail --> Angela. Well, duh. Of course, there was just some weak UST in the movie and here's, it's a little more but most important person to him? CHECK.
Asher --> Arthur. Hahaha, I amuse myself. This one works because I'm thinking of it in the snarky, banter, back and forth, we laugh at each other way.
Danica --> Chuck Bass. I amuse myself more but this one works somewhat too! Come on, bitchy, picky, snarky, and shrill? Yes. And they have slept together and Chuck as a vamp would so run on the same wavelength as Danica.

The best I can come up with is, and this kind of cracks me up, Arthur as Buffy in that "I respect what you can do but I kind of think you're an idiot" way. And Rose, Beka, and Elena as Faith to some degree because there's more looking up to and less disrespect.
I tried thinking further but it made my brain make funny sounds.
no subject
Nate ---> Sam. In the friend way, not the "completely fucking useless" way.
Blair ---> Okay, this will sound weird, but I'll say Dean. Not, in the whole, you know, girly way. But in the beginning Chuck and Blair did constantly antagonize each other but had sex at the same time.
Serena ---> I suppose Rose would fit in here. Except Chuck isn't constantly getting her out of trouble.
Dan ---> John Sheppard or Arthur. For obvious reasons.
Bart ---> TONY STARK, DUH. Only on SOW though. Castiel is kind of a mentor figure too. Just...a mentor figure Chuck wants to bang.
Carter Baizen ---> Peter. Come on, they're pretty much from the same place and Chuck hated him. Works. We'll just ignore any lines about Chuck going down easily.
Little J ---> Francine. SORRY. Or Jean, because she's Chuck's sister and Little J is Elaine's favorite character.
Vanessa ---> God help this place if there is a Vanessa-like person in this school. Same goes for Georgina.

Pandora, well, the closest she did have was Prince Edward. That kind of ditzy and cheerful friend who she seems to spend most of her time around amused and subtly mocking their naivety. Griff kind of falls under this but only in the 'virginal and on the receiving end of Effy's advice' sort of way.
No one else could ever come close to a Tony for her, obviously, and the rest... Don't really have parallels I can see either.

worklive together.... and, you know, guy she loves. Easy comparison.Bones would be Peyton. There isn't the same complete lack of social savvy obviously, but there is the BFF thing and the 'you are coming out and having fun with me whether you like it or not!' thing.
I think two comparisons is my limit, I can't think of more than that on any of mine. Fail, self.

Izzie --> Effy. As much as Izzie annoys the fuck out of me sometimes (DIAF THIS SEASON IZZIE DIAF), this is the one that fits. The girl that he actually DOES like and and drops a lot of his guard around in one moment but is a complete jackhole to in the next moment. Yep.
Cristina --> Rose. It's the tenacity, tough as shit factor here with a side helping of having that soft, vulnerable side that she doesn't want you to EVER see.
Meredith --> Tahiri. The girl who hates him and tells him so! Easy.
George --> Griff. Another easy one. The dopey, puppy faced guy who Alex is a complete jackhole to? Yep.
Addison --> Elena. A relationship born out of some shared issues and hot sex. Yep.
Mark Sloan --> Emma. The 'knows she's good and doesn't care who else knows it' vibe is what I'm seeing here. It's a stretch but it works.

I can't really think of anyone else for this just now. Maybe something will occur to me later.
ETA: The Baroness: Parker. Femme Fatale that Billy has had a crush on (even if the crush is my own invention). Besides in the recent movie Baroness has a perfect Parker moment. After threatening a woman with a machine gun, she says "Nice shoes."
no subject
Wiseguy: That would have to be Karla. A strong woman who wants Leda to better herself, and is her best friend. Neither are to be fucked with.
Mooner: Probably Effy. Mooner was a huge enabler, and Effy probably would be.
Wolfboy: Lion-O. Except for the fact that he's a cat instead of a dog, and can talk, he's an animal man whom Leda has a crush on.
I'm sure there was someone else but it's gone.
no subject
Piper --> Dinah, only sans the whole "I put my kid up for adoption and am now going to lie to her new father to be a part of her life" thing. More for the teasing friendliness and generally cheerful, confident attitude.
Jen --> Tara. Shy blond whose confidence issues Priestly pokes at, ftw?
Tish --> Claudia kinda used to fit this. . . . Priestly has no current Tish! I need to fix this (not "fish" it, as I originally typed. I need to go home.)
I'm not sure if he has a Trucker or a Zo in these here parts. Which covers most of the characters in Ten Inch Hero that Priestly interacts with in any meaningful way, except for
Tadd --> I'd say Arthur, but that's insulting to Arthur. Except that as far as antagonists that Priestly wants to hit goes, Arthur is the closest fit.
Oh, yes, and Fuzzy22 --> Jak. What with the love-interest-for-the-my-female-friend thing. *nods*

Teyla Emmagan = Lois Lane. They both go around looking far too hot for their own good, give good advice, and John's never getting any from either of them. Woe.
Elizabeth Weir = Jaina Solo. So last time Jaina was Chaya, but I think their current friendship status moves her to the level where if she was a replicator, he'd send her off to a cold death in the depths of space to save her from destroying mankind. It's the caring thing to do, OMG!
Aiden Ford/Ronon Dex = Ben Skywalker. He is so a combo of the smartass kid and the war-weary soldier. He's even got the appropriate back scars!
Kolya = Future Jacen Solo. I don't care that he didn't go to Fandom. John dealt with the aftermath of this guy enough that he wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet in him if they ever meet again. And then probably torture himself by cutting off his own hand, yes. I so blame that on too much time with Skywalkers.
Todd the Wraith = Chuck Bass. Sure, John considers them both enemies, but they also have this weird potential for getting along when something is to mutual advantage. Oh, and the hatesex would be good.
