meme: answer for an answer

We haven't done this one since September and I have been trying to post a meme for days so I'm finally decided on this one. YOU ALL BETTER LIKE IT.

Tag your character in. Other characters will then comment asking them embarrassingly personal questions, but there's a catch. In exchange for your answer, they have to answer whatever embarrassingly personal question you ask them in return, and it all has to be truthful. Nothing counts IG, per usual.

Questions can range from the super silly to the super serious! Just have fun!

Here's an example if you wanna take a looksie! If you ping your character in, please TRY and ask at least a few questions to other people! This meme doesn't work if people don't ask questions! And keep checking back throughout the day for others that have pinged in!

They do draw attention, but that's the idea. When you put on the mask and costume, you become more than a person. You become a symbol. If I show up on a scene as Robin, the victims know they have someone they can trust, the villains know they're in trouble and the cops know there's an ally involved. I mean, that's a really, really general statement, because everyone's got their own opinion on vigilantes, but people in Gotham recognize Robin and know what to expect. Admittedly, a lot of times the reaction is "crap, Batman must be nearby", but I'm not supposed to be the scary one.

Hot and competent? I'd say belligerent, but I've got a Lucivar, so you don't really ping on my radar enough for that. I feel like I don't know you very well which was why I asked what you thought of me.

So, pretty much hot and competent.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I know I want to pop the question, but I'm not sure when to do it. I think I'm waiting for the time to feel right or something. While I'm waiting though, he could sneak in and ask first, assuming he wants to, which I don't know if he does.

Do you remember me from when you were here before?

[identity profile] flashesforinfo.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
What do I want to do? Well, making the summer last forever so we don't have to deal with it at all would be nice.

With that not likely to happen... in a perfect world I'd want you with me, wherever things end up.

Do you have any plans? Other than the ones about roaming the US with a tent. Or is that really your plan?

Honestly? I circumvent it a lot by simply being as up-front as I can be about who and what I am. If anyone freaks on me immediately, then I probably didn't want them as a friend anyway.

They'll either come around or they won't. And while it's fun to scare the nasty ones by implying that I could change their minds for them about me, why should I care that some narrow-minded simian doesn't trust me? They're either jealous or have something to hide, and in either case, it's not my fault.

[identity profile] pastmewrong.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Know it is. Miracle I haven't freaked the fuck out on you and slept with your best friend yet.

Ever going to tell me the significance of that kid's middle name?

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Gosh, I hope not. That'd be weird. WE SHOULD TOTALLY HAVE A DOUBLE-DATE, THOUGH.

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That's not really my plan. I haven't made any plans. I think I might be waiting for you to tell me what you're going to do to see what happens then. You're the one with the yearning to do the art school thing and I wouldn't want to stop you from that, no matter what.

My plans seem to still consist of waiting and seeing and hoping you won't want to end things. Is that healthy?

[identity profile] knowsnokungfu.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
... Some idea, yeah.

So if you don't realize Ellie's my sister, am I likely to end up in a dumpster or something?

[identity profile] sexonyoursheets.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Extremely likely, yeah.

But! But, if you drop your last name or something and I realize it, we'll prolly just talk about Mario Brothers or something! Way more fun!

Sometimes? I don't have the luxury of pants, so I feel kind of exposed sometimes. But I get how you feel about earning the right to wear it. It's worth anyone thinking I look silly.

[identity profile] flashesforinfo.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably not, sweetie.

If it makes you feel better, I don't want to end things. I'd never want that. I just... It feels like a big thing to move past high school. One day some psychologist is going to tell me I always keep an exit from relationships ready. Leaving here is one of those.

I don't want to use it, but it's there. That sounds awful, doesn't it?
dontvotemeout: (blank: over my shoulder)

[personal profile] dontvotemeout 2010-05-20 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not really scared for myself, because I've been keeping myself safe for a long time. But I'm learning how to protect others now too, and that's kind of new? So I thought maybe it might be something I could work on here.

If you could trade your telepathy for anything else, what would you pick? Or would you want to be normal?

[identity profile] fratboybitch.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're going to sleep with my best friend here, you're gonna have to de-virginate him too and then I'm going to punch the shit out of him and probably won't talk to you again. So, there's that.

And yeah, I'd planned on it. I haven't really found the time to dump the full truth of my fucked up family life on you but soon, I promise. You ever gonna tell me why you're so sure I can't handle you?

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
We should probably talk about this before either one of us assumes the other is going to use that out. I don't want to use it either but the longer we wait, the easier it'll become to do that.

It sounds awful, it really does but it's not like I haven't thought the same thing. It might be easier but it'd hurt. I don't know. You got any post island plans?

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you'll definitely be able to work on it here. There are tons of us who don't like fighting or know how.

And I'd want to be normal. Tons of people want telepathy, but it's awful and I hated it growing up. I imagine having the power to see through walls or fly or turn yourself invisible all would have downsides, as well.

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Not really! Our vampires, as far as I can tell, are just like any other people -- some are bad, some are good, but no one seems to be inherently evil. The official story, as far as I can tell, is that they are all victims of a "virus" that makes them appear dead, and gives them an aversion to silver and sunlight. But technically, I haven't met any vampires -- good or bad -- from my own world yet. This is all based off of the ones I've met in Fandom, and what I've heard on the news at home.

I'll have more insight on this in like, a month.

So, out of curiosity -- does garlic work on the vamps in your world? Because in mine, it just makes them sort of itchy and grossed out. (And crosses do nothing.)
intraspective: (stare)

[personal profile] intraspective 2010-05-20 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I like fixing people--giving them a boost and letting them soar. Especially shy ones who don't get that they're awesome and don't know how to show the world they're awesome. See why you fit the bill?

Why do you trust me?
intraspective: (badass glasses girl)

[personal profile] intraspective 2010-05-20 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
... No. Because if I didn't know, it'd make my friendships with the people who told me less meaningful. Knowledge hurts, but that I know means they trusted me.

Do you think changing the world is something anyone can do?

[identity profile] boywonder03.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
What would it take to get you to wear a mask again?

[identity profile] give-areason.livejournal.com 2010-05-20 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be... more discomfiting were I aware of that fact.
