It's Student Council time! As your Dean of Awesome Students, Barney is in charge of StuCo in an advisory capacity. Like every year, what we need now are some students for him to corrupt!
The Student Council will be comprised of 9 students total. 3 seniors, 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 1 freshman.
IC responsibilities for StuCo members include:

Since Parent's Weekend and Homecoming are going to be upon us sooner than we think (Oct 2nd and 23rd respectively) the campaigns kick off now!
OOCly: If you want to throw your character's hat into the ring, fill out the appropriate thread below. This will also count as handwavily filling out the same form IC and sticking it in Barney's mailbox (not dirty). This is the bare minimum requirement for getting your character's name on the ballot.
ICly: Campaign your little hearts out! Put up posters, give speeches, kiss babies, hand out buttons - whatever. You don't have to do this as part of the election, just remember that you're asking to be elected to a job that requires more work IC and OOC, so campaigning might be a good way to show both yourself and everyone else that you've got the time to put in to the task.
Deadline for sign-ups is 9pm Eastern, Thursday, September 16th.
The day of the election will be Friday, September 17th.
Winners will be announced Saturday, September 18th.
The first StuCo meeting will be Friday, September 24th.

- Anything else members come up with!
OOC responsibilities for StuCo members include:
- Pinging into said meetings (they'll happen every other Friday during lunch, posted by Barney and el Presidente when work eats my face)
- Volunteering for and actually putting up the posts for carnival, prom, etc.
- Coming up with ideas for fun events to do
- Organizing and implementing said fun events
- Tracking the StuCo comm where we do the OOC "who posts what" stuff
- Coordinating with me to make sure we get admin permission for anything that needs admin permissioning

4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Some kind of class competition (freshman vs. sophomores vs. juniors vs. seniors).

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Heir to the throne of the kingdom of Daventry? Has also almost single-handedly managed the upkeep and daily affairs of a magician's lair. Good at dragon slaying. Employed at Things Reborn.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Jousting tournament, or something very similar to that sort of fun and games, promoting chivalry and honor!
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I believe I should be elected to Student Council because I would be an excellent leader, fair and honest, as is the credo of the ruling family of Daventry. Not only that, but I am passionate about maintaining this approach and hope that it would prove as excellent practice for the future that awaits me. If elected, my fellow students would be helping me greatly, and I intent to use the position to return the favor.

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Never been on a school ever before, actually, but when you travel the world with a stage magician that happens to be your dad, you end up organizing half his stuff before every show, and eventually bossing everyone working with him at age 12.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: A parade! Cross-world themed parade! Gather people from your world/your friends and make your own cart to show all around town. And then a concert

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Head Boy at the highly prestigious Watchers' Academy in England, assistant Watcher (kind of like a mentor) to two Slayers this past spring, current library aide, participant in Reserves, TA for Faith's class over the summer.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: It might be quite nice to go on excursions to cultural landmarks and events. For example, the opera, or the theater, or foreign cities.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I've quite a lot of leadership experience and I've always been rather good at it. Furthermore, I am responsible, ambitious and determined to succeed at my goals, all of which are qualities befitting a leader.

5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because I am awesome and because wouldn't you rather have someone in charge who likes being in charge than someone who doesn't? Really?

4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: There should be regular pick-up soccer, football, basketball or baseball games open to all students. Refreshment sales during these games could help fund school activities.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I have proven leadership experience and am great at getting things done. Juniors who want a smart representative with integrity should vote Fabray.

4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Tour of the school to show new students defensible areas and where to get supplies during emergency situations. Or getting student feedback on cafeteria food.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I'm practical. I speak up. I can do whatever needs to be done to represent the students.

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Freshman Rep to StuCo last year. No one killed any visitors during Parents Weekend. Planned Valentine's dance and Prom. Library Aide at Fandom. Aide to 'local government' prior to coming to Fandom.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Have a party just after Parents Weekend to celebrate surviving. Organise weekend trips to places off-island during term times.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because I did do a good job last year, and I don't want to be taking your ears for not voting for me. Just kidding about that last part.

3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I've only recently discovered that women can vote at all (since we cannot in 1913 and really, how completely ridiculous is that? I'm at least as intelligent as Bertie Shakespeare Drew), so my life hasn't been exactly chock-full of leadership opportunities, if you will. But I have watched my mother quite closely with her work in the Ladies Aid and if she's managed to make Douglasses and McAllisters stand next to each other and sell cake for decades, she must be doing something right.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Have you ever held a taffy pull? Miss Atreides seemed quite charmed by the concept when I brought it up in class.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because I'm terribly enthusiastic and I bring a viewpoint that you might not have on your council!

4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Weekly Friday night parties at Caritas to unwind, pick up chicks (or dudes), and get out of the dorms.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I've got sarcasm, a dirty mind and ideas that would make you blush. Why shouldn't I be elected?
