What animal have you, or would you, choose for each of your characters if you pulled a random Fandom animal transformation on them, and why? Including former characters if you like, and adorable pictures welcome. (Disturbing pictures expected.)

Jack was a terrier, which is a canon thing -- he's likened to a terrier about 15 times in 200 pages, so of course Fandom had to make him an actual one.

It makes sense: He is small, fearless, tenacious, and good at tracking.

I don't have the icon any more, but Priestly pretty much had to be a chameleon. I considered parrot for awhile, but at the time he was doing one of Geoffrey Tennant's shows, and a chameleon was just TOO PERFECT. . . .

Katchoo is a bunny rabbit! The scowliest, bitiest bunny rabbit ever, just for the contrast of sheer adorability to crankiness, and because thatsamilkshake found the best pictures for it. I like irony. It's a thing.

Kennedy always gets to be a hedgehog, because I love the idea of her being all bristly and thinking she's badass, but the sort of animal that people are more likely to look at and go "AWWWWWWWWW WEE LITTLE HEDGIE HOW CUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!" This is basically my entire reasoning.

Tahiri gets to be a baby cougar. Because, well -- she was one. And I think I'm funny. Look, I don't have terribly elaborate reasoning on these things.

Gabrielle has not yet turned into any sort of animal. Given the things she tends to get turned into in canon (a vampire Bacchae, an archangel, a demon twice, a mermaid in a fantasy sequence in the WORST EPISODE EVER . . .) I figured she sort of had enough.

But if I did, I'd probably turn her into some kind of small, loyal, persistent, and earnest puppy. Or some animal that makes no sense whatsoever. I'll totally take suggestions.

So dollpocalypse and I were actually just talking about this the other day, because Peter seemed HARD, animal-transformation-wise.

And then I realised ahahaha, no. No big, stately animals of the jungle or the planes for Peter, no. He is not that flashy. He has his own way of winning supremacy.

So really, only one animal makes sense.





Not that this will keep him from hating me if I do that.

Bo (nookiepowered): is an antechinus (not that she's ever figured that out), a small rodenty marsupial whose breeding partners tend to die out from exhaustion.

Francine (thatsamilkshake): is a baby badger, because despite the soft, fuzzy exterior (and gooey chocolate center), if you mess with her people (or a kid) she will bite your face off, yo.

Xander (soldtoarmenians/needsaparrot): has only been transformed when Rita Skeeter turned him into a newt. (Spoiler: he got better.) Still, that's pretty appropriate both for his fandom and because I used to co-write a non-FH fic series where it happened to him constantly, so it still makes me LOL.

Emmett (hazlehurstmiss): never got transformed, but if he had, he'd be a Flame Angelfish because...Emmett.

Illyria (bitchy_smurf): likewise never got transformed (Except that weekend she was a boat. Tied to Worf.) but she would've been a stickbug, because c'mon.

Eliza (loverlyviolets): never got transformed in mainstream Fandom but turned into a vampire bunny in Wishverse. Because Big Pointy Teeth! Run away! Run away!

Door (notajar): would have been a rat or a pigeon, possibly both at different times. She already speaks both languages.

Cally (onlymistaken): would have been an ambulatory telepathic alien cactus that you can melt down to make a highly addictive drug, because her canon is on the good crack

Edmund (prof_of_cunning): would have been, despite his name, a black rooster, and incredibly put out about it because he'd want to be a snake, but he is, was, and always will be an utter cock. (...And Baldrick would've turned into a turnip. As Edmund would point out, he already is an animal.)
