Coming Next Weekend to an Island Near You: The Great M(G)ary-S(t)ue Invasion!
The multiverse, needing someplace to dump a pile of reality-warping troublemakers for a while until it can straighten out the fabric of the universes they've been rampaging through, will open a portal in the park on Saturday morning, but it won't be your AU kids spilling out. Instead, it will be a swarm of Mary Sues and Gary Stus, all specifically attracted to Fandom Island because they share a canon with at least one Fandomite.
Long lost princesses. Nerdy teens who save the day by knowing everything about that starship, plus they're the only one skinny enough to fit through the Jeffries Tube. Eric Northman's illegitimate half-vampire, half-fairy, half-technomancer daughter. Yes, that's three halves; that's ok because she has the power of re-writing physics, and everybody loves her! If they have unbelievable skills and powers, tragic backstories,
Here are some resources for Mary/Gary ideas; there's not just one kind of Special Sparkly Poo, after all. Some of them don't even sparkle; they glitter darkly and sarcastically with the Terrible Gawthic Powersssssss Of The Night!

So How Does This Work?
- These will be NPC characters, just like those brought in for AU!Kids or various conventions, and they'll need their own journals.
- To keep this under control and make sure people have time to play with their PCs too, no more than two Sue/Stus per player, please.
- Your Sue/Stu must come from at least one canon currently represented in the game. (Not necessarily on the island, though.)
- Crossover backgrounds with more than one canon, including canons not represented at FH, are fine, though. Go Jedi Beetleborgs!
- Play from whatever fandoms you like within the above guidelines. However, there are a few situations where we would like you to get permission from canonmates:
- If your character is going to be directly related to a current FH character, please obtain that player's permission first. Read "directly related" broadly: relative, friend, ancestor, spouse, kindergarten teacher. If you want your S(t)ue to know any version of the FH character personally, ask first.
- If your character will know things about an FH character -- background, future, secrets of his canon that he doesn't know yet -- ask the player first. Even if it's public knowledge in the canon and/or in Fandom, ask first. Check in to make sure it's okay to know things about a Fandomite, say things about the canon to a Fandomite, or tell other characters things about them. (Which is something we should be doing with our regular characters all the time; we're just asking everyone to keep this courtesy going, and pay special attention when we're playing around with all-knowing sparklypoo types.)
- If you want to play a Canon S(t)ue. (More on that below.)
- If your character is going to be directly related to a current FH character, please obtain that player's permission first. Read "directly related" broadly: relative, friend, ancestor, spouse, kindergarten teacher. If you want your S(t)ue to know any version of the FH character personally, ask first.
- Can I play a Canon Sue?
A Canon-Sue (or Stu) is a (usually main, but not always) canon character who is also super-speshul and seems to fit the S(t)uvian criteria.
Yes, you can play one if you'd like, rather than creating an Original Character, but keep in mind that on an island overrun with OCs who can be as overpowered, oversexed, and overloved as the player wishes, Jaenelle or Bella as actually seen in canon might not come out as Sueful as you're expecting, or as fun to play. If you do want to play a canon character, they need to be from a canon represented in-game, and you need to get the go-ahead from all of the players from that canon, first.
For the sake of plot-logic, any Canon-Sues will come from another timeline than the FH character(s) -- the fully canon timeline where nobody's ever heard of Fandom before. Parents' Weekend will be coming up soon enough for those who want their Fandomite's actual kaleidoscope-eyed BFF to visit the island! - Can I play a fanfic-Sue/Stu version of my own character, like Hermione-Sue?
Not for this plot; you're totally welcome to do that on AU Weekend. - Backstory and powers?
See that thing up above your head? No, higher, with the fluffy white bits floating around in it. That's the limit. Anything you like, within the constraints of
1) The permissions listed above
2) Good taste and courtesy to your fellow players: any possibly sensitive or offensive backstory or behavior that we'd ask you to cut or warn for from a regular FH character, should be treated the same for an NPC.
Power doesn't exist within the canon your S(t)ue hails from? Don't worry. It does for you, because you're Speshuljust like every other character coming through that portal! - Special S(t)uvian Powers!
Q: So in addition to flight, perfect pitch and purple hair, I have super-special reality-warping powers, right? Does this mean all the Fandomites from my canon will recognize me as whoever say I am, and everyone will instantly like/respect/want to sex me up?
A: Possibly -- that's up to the players.
Players of regular FH characters are welcome to let them fall under the Spell Of The Sue -- think of it like Soap Opera Weekend, when you do things Just Because. You can have Sue-Fights between Eric's three half-vampire daughters (the Jedi, the supermodel, and the Digimon trainer), trying to control which one he perceives as real.
Players of FH characters are also welcome to declare that due to the vagaries of Fandom, they're immune to those powers, and have them go, "WTF, stop stalking me you freak, I don't have a sister and if I did, I certainly wouldn't want to rent the Stripper Pole Suite with her!" (Lannisters and Wigginses need not apply.)
Likewise, Topher can think Princess Alysande Joceyln Brioinides Skywalker is the kindest and most beauuuuuuuutiful character in the multiverse, or he can go "Arrrgh, mammary glands!" and hide under a blanket like usual.
Feel free to pick and choose; your character can be immune to the influence of all S(t)uvians, or just some. - How old/young can they be?
Any age at which they're intelligent enough to communicate and get around on their own. Yes, they can be children, but keep in mind this isn't AU!Kids weekend; your kid OCs should fit the S(t)uvian criteria, and unless their fake-parent is willing to take care of them all weekend, should have the superpowers or smarts to be able to look after themselves. - Where can the S(t)uvians play?
OOCly, pretty much anywhere it makes sense for them to want to be. Adult hanging out in the common room? Whatever; this one's special and everyone trusts him. ICly, just keep in mind that characters who are unaffected by your S(t)ue may not see it that way, and are welcome to try chasing them out of anyplace they don't belong. - The Eeeeend
Much like the AU!Kids, our S(t)uvians will disappear into a portal on Sunday evening, though in this case it will be because Fandom herself has decided enough is e-frakking-nough and is booting them the hell out. Feel free to have them dragged kicking and screaming away by the Power of Portal, or just handwavily fade out. - Aftermath!
Those affected by S(t)uvian powers may remember as much or as little of the weekend as you'd like (again, much like Soap Opera Weekend) and either be completely freed from the influence once the Sues have been banished, or have fond but confused memories of them; your call. Those immune to their powers will of course remember eeeeeverything, including the embarrassing stuff their neighbors did.
Any physical changes to the island or its residents (including injuries) caused by the S(t)uvians will be put right when they disappear. (The admins reserve the right to cheerfully ignore this if someone comes up with some awesome new geographical feature that, in our opinion, needs to remain on the island forever.)

Player Name: Bella
Canon(s) they're coming from Lost Girl
Character age and gender (if applicable): 27, female
FH characters they know or are related to: Kenzi and Bo
Have you got the go-ahead from those players? Yes!
Backstory and Powers: Nezabudka (aka Nezi, aka Nezzie, aka Neza, aka Budka) is the granddaughter of the Princess Anastasia and Charles Lindbergh Jr. She's a natural born witch from a super-secret family kabal of witches working to ensure the continued health and well-being of both human- and fey-kind. They do this SO secretly, in fact, that no one but the family know they're even there -- except for Neza's favorite cousin Kenzi, from whom she couldn't BEAR to keep a secret. As a natural born witch, Nezi has psychic abilities and the power to manipulate the fabric of the universe in whatever way makes the most sense plotwise at the time (altering sound waves, convincing hair to grow and change color at will, etc). She is also a talented musician with an operatic vocal range and expertise with six different instruments (piano and whatever other five instruments occur to me at the time of writing) and fourteen world languages (English, Russian, and whatever twelve other languages end up coming up over the course of play). And of course, thanks to her sekrit kabal family, she knows everything there is to know about the fey, whose society she has infiltrated using her natural grace and diplomacy, so that she's universally beloved by all she encounters. She's beautiful, but not in the Classic Beauty kind of way. She has naturally bright red hair and eyes that change color (from bright, sapphire blue to a lovely celery green, even at times to *gasp* lavender), and is just plump enough to be curvaceous and adorable. She has an unquenchable love of life and a need to stand out from a crowd as different and clever, with enough imagination to come off as adorably dreamy rather than trying too hard. Oh, and she's clumsy. But only in specific moments, when she has to remind the reader that she has Real Flaws.

Backstory and Powers: Hakko will basically be a slightly older Yakko, who wears sunglasses and smokes, because it's cool. His nose is blue, unlike the other Warner siblings. His jokes will be soooooo much better than Yakko's.
And due to availability, he'll mostly just be here for radio. YES. RADIO. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Backstory and Powers: Princess Leo (omg you guys she's cool because she has a BOY'S NAME!!1) is Sia's younger sister (ignore that Sia is 15- ALL SUES ARE 16) and she is totally going to be Empress someday despite being younger. She was an Imperial Knight at the age of ten because that's when she first killed a Sith barehanded, and while everyone else has uniform silver lightsabers, hers is black, because she's such an individual. She also dresses up her armor to personalize it when she has to wear it, but she usually doesn't have to because she's the princess. She has long black hair and was lucky enough not to get that annoying white stripe, and is really really hot (and will in fact be played by Megan Fox) and doesn't wear a lot of clothes. All the guys want her and all the girls want to be her! She has all the martial arts skills ever and is the strongest person in the Force that ever was.
Also her eyes change color with her mood.

Canon(s) they're coming from Buffy the Vampire Slayer/The Sandman
Character age and gender (if applicable): 22, male
FH characters they know or are related to: None! He'd be passingly aware of the existence of Wesley, Kennedy, Tara and Xander, but he wouldn't know them well.
Have you got the go-ahead from those players? I have anyhow.
Backstory and Powers: Demetrius Dorian Devdan Jones was born out of a night of passion between Desire of the Endless and the vampire known as Spike. Desire -- who took on feminine form for the liasion because it seemed amusing -- was somewhat less amused to find herself in an interesting condition, but nonetheless brought the pregnancy to term. The child was then placed for adoption, with only a note requesting a D name be used as a clue to the parents' identity.
Never formally adopted, Demetrius grew to adulthood in a succession of foster homes, where deprivation and verbal abuse were common. While never given to self-pity, the experiences taught him to be remote and brooding, and to hold his true feelings close to his heart. But by the time he was 16, it was clear he was no ordinary ragamuffin. For one, he became known as a brilliant guitarist after teaching himself to play on an axe he made out of a cigar box and rubber bands. A few months later, it was clear his gifts extended to songwriting. Shortly after his 18th birthday, he rose to prominence as the lead singer and guitarist in the band Nosferatu. Fame, fortune, and modeling contracts followed.
But while he was living the rock star life at night, he had also developed physical powers during the day. He was significantly stronger, faster, and more durable than anyone else he knew; he also seemed to have an ability to wish things into being, and to compel people into doing anything he wanted them to do. Finally, both men and women threw themselves at him almost constantly.
On the first day he was headlining at Madison Square Garden, which happened a matter of months after Nosferatu's first single was released, a bleached blond with a British accent came backstage and introduced himself as Demetrius's father. It was only then that he began to understand who he really was.
Demetrius -- D3, to his closest companions -- is tall and slender, with cutting cheekbones, piercing blue eyes, and waist-length blonde hair that never gets tangled or falls out of place. He has gothic tattoos of song lyrics up and down his arms.

Canon(s) they're coming from -- Marvel (specifically the Norse area)
Character age and gender (if applicable): Female and 16, but she's a goddess, so that's like being seven hundred in normal people years. So. You know. It's totally okay for her to flirt with old guys.
FH characters they know or are related to: She's the Norse goddess of light and beauty and sparkly things.
Have you got the go-ahead from those players? (Hint: there is only one correct answer to this question, unless the answer above is N/A.) NO. I MEAN... YES.
Backstory and Powers: Ahahahaha.
Okay. She is Thor and Loki's adopted sister from a tenth realm where people can turn into cats. Which makes her, like, totally better than just a regular goddess. And Loki and Thor totally think she's super pretty and awesome.
One time? She saved Thor from some villain or other. I dunno. Marvel is totally boring other than the parts where hot guys are around. Also, she's dating Tony Stark.
She's mysterious.
Re: Sign-Ups!
Her Name. But totally call her Ty-Ty, guys, it's cool!
Journal Name:
Player Name: Elisabeth + Elaine. Yes, this one took two of us.
Canon(s) they're coming from A Song of Ice and Fire
Character age and gender (if applicable): 14 but soooooo mature, female
FH characters they know or are related to: Sister of Jaime
Lannister, twin to Tyrion Lannister, besties with Daenerys Targaryen.
Have you got the go-ahead from those players? Yep!
Backstory and Powers: Tyshabella was born the twin of Tyrion
Lannister, fourth child and second daughter of Lord Tywin and Lady
Joanna Lannister. From an early age, her greatness was obvious. though
her mother died giving birth to her, Tyshabella was never held
responsible for the tragedy. In fact, her beauty -- held to match her
mother's -- lovely singing voice, and gentle nature were the only
things that could make her fearsome father smile.
When she was 12, she was named to the Iron Throne by the mutual
consent of the noble families of Westeros. As gifts on her ascension,
she was given a direwolf and a betrothal to Jon Snow from the Starks,
and a pet dragon from Daenerys Targaryen. The dragon sings, changes
color, and grants wishes.
These days, Queen Ty-Ty leads Westerosi troops from astride a white
horse. She is such a skillful warrior that her armor is never even
dented and none of her men are ever killed. When Arya Stark grows up, she wants to be just like Ty-Ty.
She has long golden curly hair, and eyes the color of the sea on a stormy day.

Character age and gender (if applicable): Female, 26
FH characters they know or are related to: Katchoo, Francine
Have you got the go-ahead from those players? WHY YES I DO.
Backstory and Powers:
Height: Five feet tall when wearing black leather boots with 3-inch heels, which she always does.
Measurements: 36-22-36 BECAUSE I CANNOT TAKE THE ACTUAL VISUAL OF HER ORIGINAL RIDICULOUS SUEVIAN MEASUREMENTS OKAY SHUT UP ANA
Can bench-press: 200 lbs.
Hair: Golden blonde and down to the backs of her knees, with three bright red streaks.
Eyes: Silver irises (naturally), and after coming back from the dead, crimson sclera.
Distinguishing marks: Various aesthetically-attractive scars on her arms and legs from a combination of abuse and self-injury, INCREDIBLY dirty lily tattoo (with two lilies on it, unlike every other Parker Girl) on her right breast.
Argent is Katchoo's secret older half-sister by her mother (as opposed to the inferior secret older half-sisters by her father,Tambi and Bambi Baker). Her father was Barry Silver, whose sons Griffin and Brad grew up to be, respectively, a famous rock star and Francine's possible future husband. Argent is Brad's half-twin, because even though they have different mothers, they were born on the same day. She was given up for adoption and grew up in a succession of terrible homes and on the streets of L.A., where she learned both to defend herself and use her tiny, fragile-looking beauty to control every man or woman she met.
At sixteen, she took out an entire squad of Yakuza enforcers who'd been sent to assassinate her latest foster father, a minor mob flunky who'd been skimming money off the top for years. After killing five hit-men with her bare hands and a convenient rolled-up newspaper from the front porch, she dragged her foster father over to the limo in the driveway, punched out the window, and slit the man's throat herself with a piece of glass for reasons which we will not go into here but let's just say they're like Katchoo's but infinitely more scarring. Kenichi Takahashi -- guy in the limo, head of the local Yakuza branch and father of David Qin and Darcy Parker -- was so impressed with her that he immediately both took her into the organization, and adopted her himself.
She was given a classical education and secret martial arts training to set off her natural talents, and she quickly became her "father's" right-hand girl, heir to the empire. Despite displacing her adopted siblings Yousaka (David) and Darcy in his affections, she got along incredibly well with both. David, younger, looked to her for advice on reconciling his newfound faith with the family business, since Argent was a ruthless killer of scumbags and criminals, but had vowed never to harm the innocent. Darcy, older, just fell in love with her - while she was scornful of David's turn toward white-hattedness, she respected that Argent had always been that way and yet was still an unstoppable force when it came to the underworld.
The lily tattoo that Darcy wears and puts on all her lovers and employees was given to her by Argent, to mark Darcy as hers. When Darcy got married (a loveless marriage in name only for money and power), Argent gave her the idea of branching out to create her own all-woman branch of the Organization, the Parker Girls, and was the first person to join. She trained all the earliest girls in assassination, espionage and seduction, including her secret stepsisters Tambi and Bambi Baker; Tambi idolizes her, while Bambi's just terrified of her. While all of this was going on, Argent was also getting her joint MD and doctorate in physics at Berkley, and making a minor splash as a folk-rock-pop singer/songwriter under an assumed name while wearing a brunette wig.
Re: Sign-Ups!
After fleeing the Parker Girl life, Argent put her physics degree to use by going to work at the Heitzer Nuclear Institute (HeNRI), joining Dr. Annie Trotter in development of the Phi Project battle suit, a metallic super-suit that enables the wearer to fly, heal, zap people who try to hurt them, and cause or stop nuclear explosions, among other random TOTALLY SCIENTIFIC NOT MAGIC AT ALL powers, not all of which have been revealed.
Argent volunteered to alpha-test the suit, but while zooming through the air over the town of Manson, she was shot down by a strange bolt of power (TOTALLY MAGIC AND NOT SCIENTIFIC AND THUS ABLE TO BYPASS THE SUIT'S DEFENSES) that caused her to plummet to the ground in the local cemetery, break her neck, and die.
Death in Manson isn't like death everywhere else, though. While Argent lay in a state of zombification, her mind communed with the Cartoonist (you might know him as God) who filled her in on various events in the present and future of her world (especially those surrounding her wayward half-sister Katchoo and girlfriend Francine) and of Fandom that she needed to fix or protect people from. She awoke with newly blood-red eyes, the inability to die because she's Already Dead, and a general combination of clairvoyence, precognition, and empathy which she'd always possessed latently, but is now, due to her death and resurrection, in full bloom.
TL;DR: she can fly, shoot laserbeams, blow up the world, deliver your baby, speak Polish, Japanese, Russian, Latin and C++, read your emotions, tell you tomorrow's lottery numbers, seduce your mom, rip out your evil dad's throat, play piano, harmonica and bass guitar, out-drink you, out-cuss you, out-shoot you and out-fuck you. Though she'll probably only do the last one if you're a woman or the occasional hot, sensitive dude who might as well be a woman.
She's allergic to cats, though, so she does have flaws. (She loves them anyway, though, almost as much as they love her (she can telepathically control cats too); she just sneezes constantly -- but not unattractively -- while she's cuddling them.)

Canon(s) they're coming from Batman Beyond
Character age and gender (if applicable): 16, Female
FH characters they know or are related to: Sidekick to Terry even though she's way better at heroing than him.
Have you got the go-ahead from those players? Yes.
Backstory and Powers: The original Catwoman's granddaughter, Felicite has hair as black as a moonless night, silver eyes, and tremendous natural physical gifts. She came to Bruce Wayne for training and he couldn't possibly say no. She's become like a daughter to him, so he of course gave her a red shirt and black cape and let her team up with the new Batman, Terry. She is now Robyn, the Womanly Wonder.
Her fighting, stealth, and detective skills are far superior to Terry's, naturally, but it's her mission to help him be the best Batman he can be. Naturally, they are destined to be a great love story if they can ever stop just flirting (and ignore the fact that they're pretty much siblings by the transitive property).
She uses crossbows (NON-LETHALLY, of course), because archery y'all.

Canon(s) they're coming from -- The Mortal Instruments
Character age and gender (if applicable): 17, female
FH characters they know or are related to: Other than the angel blood that flows through all Shadowhunters? Nah, she's not related to anybody.
Have you got the go-ahead from those players? Michelle is the one that told me to do it.
Backstory and Powers: Cialis Shadowhunter is a decedent of the great Jonathan Shadowhunter, the man who asked the angel Raziel for blood and thus created a race of Nephilim that Jonathan named after himself. She's famous in the Shadowhunter world not only for her name, but because she holds a deep, dark secret that almost everyone knows about. Cialis is not, in fact, a Nephilim. No, she was only adopted by the Shadowhunter family. Cialis is actually the daughter of the angel Raziel and Lilith, mother of all demons! The Shadowhunters did their best to raise Cialis as their own but she was just too special, too good at fighting evil. Eventually the Clave found out about her and held her under trial for being too powerful. Luckily for the world she managed to charm her way into innocence and she is now traveling the world fighting evil, getting into love triangles and occasionally angsting over her inner demons. Her mother desperately wants her to fight for evil but she will not give in!!! Until she gives in at least once a book, but a love interest eventually drags her back from the dark abyss during the climax.
Being half-angel and half-demon Cialis has the strengths of both and the weaknesses of none. She's speedy, agile, strong, and beautiful. A master of both the bow and sword. From her father she inherited the ability to spout (black!) wings from her back and fly when she so chooses and her kisses heal the injured and bring back the freshly killed from the dead (decaying people don't deserve to come back, okay, they're gross). Her blood can also make vampires walk in the sun without harm and rids werewolves of their silver allergy. From her mother she gained the ability to shoot fire from her fingertips and a gift for persuasion. Of course any use of these powers will be followed by angst for using the dark gifts her mother had given her.

Re: Blanket Permissions/Requests
I'm also cool with anything TMI related but lol really I'm pretty sure only three of us have read it. Also I don't think you can get more Sue than the canon anyway.
Re: Blanket Permissions/Requests
Even if that would probably jeopardize my sanity.

Am also fine with Sues from New Amsterdam, if anybody wants to play in there.

Also No Heroics is up for grabs, but uh, there's not that many of us that know the canon at all. (AS MUCH AS EXCELSIOR SHOULD SHOW UP. Ahem.)
And finally, I'd rather no one touch United States of Tara, please and thank you.
