Student Council Elections!
With the fall semester in full swing, it's time for Student Council elections! This year, Minerva will be the Student Council advisor, and all she needs are students to work with!
The Student Council is comprised of 9 students total: 3 seniors, 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 1 freshman.
IC responsibilities for StuCo members include:
OOC responsibilities for StuCo members include:
Since the ball is rolling on the semester, the campaigns kick off now!
OOCly: If you want to throw your character's hat into the ring, fill out the appropriate thread below. This will also count as handwavily filling out the same form IC and sticking it in a box on Minerva's door. This is the minimum requirement for getting your character's name on the ballot.
ICly: Campaign your little hearts out! Put up posters, give speeches, kiss babies, hand out buttons - whatever. You don't have to do this as part of the election, but remember that you're asking to be elected to a job that requires more work IC and OOC, so campaigning might be a good way to show both yourself and everyone else that you've got the time to put into the task.
Deadline for sign-ups is 11pm Eastern, Wednesday, September 19th.
The day of the election will be Thursday, September 20th.
Winners will be announced Friday morning, September 21st.
The first StuCo meeting will be Friday lunchtime, September 21st.
Just follow the OCD and you'll be all set!

Questions about StuCo!
Sign-Ups for StuCo!
Re: Sign-Ups for StuCo!
2) Class: Sophomore
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I am a prince of Asgard! And have well over three hundred followers on my Tumblr account.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: Perhaps there should be field trips to other realms. I am almost certain this would not end in someone dying or being cursed.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: Because
you were made to be ruledI feel I can learn much from such an experience.Re: Sign-Ups for StuCo!
2) Class: Junior
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center employee, 2012-present.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: It seems like Fandom doesn't hold fundraisers very often, so one of those, like a bake sale or some kind of date auction, might be a good way to raise money for the school. The money from these fundraisers could go towards equipping students with tools to defend themselves or perform first-aid in the case of island invasions.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: This kind of position of leadership can help me do my part to make sure Fandom High School is as safe a place as possible.

2) Class: Senior
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Fandom High Student Council Junior Representative, 2011-present. Employee of Groovy Tunes, 2011-2012. Organizer of Fandom High LGBT Pride group, 2011-present. Worked at a center for LGBT youth in Providence, Rhode Island. Represented Rhode Island in Miss Teen Dream 2011.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: I still endorse disaster preparedness and suggest a series of seminars and drills on what to do in the event of various natural emergencies, such as a flood or turning into a penguin. Also, more dorm bonding activities. I've suggested things like sleepovers and makeover nights in the past, but for something new, maybe we could have a field day with old-school things like sack races and tug-o-war to endorse teamwork.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: I have experience working with a group to organize and thrive, and I like to think I did a pretty decent job last year. Hopefully my fellow seniors will agree and re-elect me!

2) Class: Senior
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Employee and manager of Dite's Decadent Delights, 2010-present; leader of Magic Reserves, 2009-2011,
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: A school-organized "casino event" in a kind of 1920's gangster/flapper theme (without the violence). You donate to participate, have prizes people can win, and the money itself goes to charity/the school. Also, some kind of spirit competition, where each floor of the dorms or grade competes with one another.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: It seems to be a good way to combine helping out the school with having fun and making sure everyone else has fun at the same time.

2) Class: Junior!
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): I've been serving on the Student Council since my freshman year. I've also served as chairwoman of the school sorority.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: We need more excuses to get together and have fun! Perhaps culturally themed events in the dorms around other people's holidays?
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?:
Because I love being in charge of things!Because I love the opportunity to serve my fellow students and bring a unique perspective to the Council, as someone who didn't believe in magic or weirdness or people turning into other people before I arrived here.Re: Sign-Ups for StuCo!
2) Class: Freshman
3) Previous experience (Fandom High StuCo, jobs, clubs, or experiences from before arriving in Fandom): Is… Is this a prerequisite? I suppose it would count that once, I guided my people as Etro willed, but that was a long time ago. If that does not count then the only thing I have to offer is that I am well-travelled and have seen much on my own world.
4) List at least one idea for an activity that Student Council could do that it hasn't done before: I am uncertain what has been done before but, perhaps a day (or more) to discuss the myths and legends in different worlds would be interesting? After all, myths and legends have a huge influence on society and culture and it would be a window into the very roots of other peoples' worlds and what has framed their culture.
5) Why should you be elected to Student Council?: It is true that I do not have much experience with this sort of thing, but I was advised that such inexperience is, in its own way, invaluable because I may pick up on things that others might miss, having knowledge of how things work already. If that is the case, then I feel that I would not mind helping for something like this.
