Fandom's Anniversary
Hello folks! We interrupt your BDE recovery for a very advance announcement!
You may be aware that this year, on September 5th, Fandom High will be turning 10 years old. While that makes some of us weep at how ancient we've become, it's also a huge milestone, and we figure it deserves a milestone celebration for everyone. Everyone.
On September 5th, the school will be throwing one of its usual "Hey alumni, come back and visit us" type events, but through the magic of a glitch in Portalocity's systems, the island will be open to every character who's ever been in the game. Awww yeah. The island will be open to everyone until Monday, September 7th, at which point Portalocity will unglitch itself and everyone who's not a current resident will have to go home.
We wanted to announce this way ahead of time to give everyone a chance to find those old character journals, figure out who might be coming back, and get any questions about the weekend answered, such as:
How many characters can I bring back?
As many as you think you can handle playing for three days! Next week, we'll put up a brainstorming post so people can list all the characters they've played (a very long list for some of us) and folks can figure out who they really want to bring back.
Can multiple versions of the same character come for the weekend?
Yes, for this weekend, we will allow multiple versions of characters to be in Fandom at the same time. Bring on all the Buffies!
What about people who don't play the game anymore?
When we say everyone, we mean everyone. We would love to have old players return for the weekend! We're going to try to contact folks we can find email addresses for, but if you're still in contact with old players, encourage them to come back!
Is anything else strange going to happen over the weekend?
There will be one minor invasion of things to fight, and probably some strange rain. It's not a true nostalgia trip without reminding people about Fandom's best features!
If you have any other questions, hit the comments and let us know!

What if you killed a character off? Are they off-limits because of death, or would they come in from before they died, or would they show up as some sort of ghost, specter, or weird skeleton thing that's still wearing the character's clothes?
I think you know the answer I'm hoping for.

2) Can we play characters at whatever age we want as long as it's not a retcon? Like, say a character graduated and got dropped at age 18 back in 2010. Can they still be 18 for the weekend, or should we play them at 23 because that's what they would be if they had aged normally?

Mind you, I'm still going to spend time figuring out how old all of my characters should be.

2) Yes, you can decide how much time has passed for your characters. So, if they're the same age as when they left, awesome! If they're older, also awesome!
